@DannyJC13 the Peelified page, particularly the walking dead discussion.

Was that his response tweet? I wonder what is the "walking dead discussion". Is he talking about the off-topic?

I entirely agree with what he says. PEELers are mean, but usually the "mean" we dish out to each-other is more of a way of showing affection, much like the way boyz will call each other p*ssies and retards. Well, half of the time. Sometimes our attitude is truly candid- it's our way of saying grow a vertebrate and don't be a total dipsh*t like the dunderheads at the Futurama Madhouse forums (well, most members of that forum, including me).

Back to the topic, the infosphere just posted on their newsfeed that the same writer has also stated in a tweet that there will be a musical performance. Definitely squee-worthy. Very excited, hope it won't be a complete letdown like "Bender's Big Score" and "The Futurama Holiday Spectacular". Here's to the chance that it would be as incredible as the "Ghost in the Machines" musical-numberette.

He was talking about the Walking Dead thread in the "It's got a TV!" section. If you go in there you'll see it kind of expanded in to a huge spam fest...

Well, he was just complaining because it was directly targeted against him. Admittedly, Bend-err was being a bit of a jerk, but it's not like we're all dicks to each other, mostly.

I consciously stay away from 4chan. The concept of the place is fascinating, but the reality is less so.

More Plucky Girl Genius Amy please.

No!

I would also like to see an episode that shows more of her pudgy childhood on Mars with her hilariously emotionally abusive parents.

Yes!

Me-man awaaaay!

I can so imagine it:
Cue fat, bespectacled asian Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine Amy.
Amy: Dad, can you buy me that pony, Spirit for my birthday?  Pleeeease?
Leo: We not get you pony.  Because you eat it.  Because you fat. Because fat people eat things that not meant for food.  Because they love to eat.  And you fat. Heeeeheeeheeeheee!
Inez: I put you on diet Amy.  Because puberty no fun for fat girls.  Unless they sluts.  But nobody want to marry and father grandchild with fat slut.
*Amy runs out the room crying*
Leo: That right, go crying to child therapist!

Oh, yes, that would be a fun flashback. I have enjoyed the flashbacks in recent 6B eps, despite arguments that there were too many of them. Amy's history does deserve a little more development.

It would be pretty interesting.  She's basically the Princess of Mars, owns her own pet Buggalo, is a billionaire, and her parents alternate between outright neglect and emotional abuse.  (The fact that they bought her way into Mars U when she is clearly smart enough to get in on her own implies they don't expect much of her besides being a meaty motel for grandchildren to live rent free for 9 months.)

I entirely agree with what he says. PEELers are mean,

Yet we can be so nice. We're possibly the meanest set of "nice guys" on the internet. I mean, nobody has ever been to an AGI or PEELathon and had a really crappy time, despite the bajillion things that can and do go wrong at each one. We're mean to people who are either not part of PEEL, or who are useless parts of PEEL. Like a body dealing with foreign invaders, or shoving tons of crap into its appendix because, fuck the appendix.

As for Amy flashbacks, I'd love to see her change from a chubby little martian brat into the social butterfly she is today. In some sort of a montage, perhaps.

I'd rather see the reverse.

Hey! That could be an episode! Anti-chronotrons start bombarding the Earth, and everyone does everything in reverse, and gets younger. Except of course Fry (with his inferior yet superior mind), who saves the world accidentally. And maybe Leela; she could be unaffected because ... er, um ... aha: because she's a mutant!

That would be good to implement in "The Butterjunk Effect", presuming that episode is about obesity.

The idea that an episode would be about obesity is very off-putting. Hopefully they could have it focus more on the past (in this case Amy's) instead of making fat jokes.

When did you hear it was about obesity? The name is based off of the butterfly effect which has nothing to do with obesity... it sounds like it could be from the title I guess but I don't think it is.

I think it's a rather daring guess to assume "Butterjunk" = "Obesity related" theme.
On the other hand, I would not really mind such an episode. Of course not just some "fat people jokes", but obesity as an existing health problem could well be adressed.
(I liked e.g. the representation of humans in Wall-E).

I thought Butterjunk might be about Fry accumulating useless crap and becoming a horder or something similar.   Not really because of Butter or Junk in the Trunk, but it could be that.

Well yeah, but I was just guessing Fry, since he is the most likely to accumulate useless crap like that, probably action figures or boxes of old junk food that still have fried cheese on the lid (as Morgan Procter already knows).

Bender would probably have lots of jewels and stolen gold, so not really junk, unless he started collecting Calculon's used oilrags or dug up celebrity bones.

Another idea would be Leela trying to start an endangered animal sanctuary in her apartment out of desperation, only going crazy and adding owls and cockroaches to it as well.   Animal hoarding!  But it wouldn't go with the title since animals aren't really objects, so therefore not junk.

No it wouldn't. It would have a similar jumping off point, that's it.

That's like saying that 'Go God Go' is a rip-off of 'Space Pilot 3000' or that 'Fear of a Bot Planet' is a rip-off of 'AWESOM-O'.

He didn't say Fry wasn't his own grandfather. He said that theoretically in the actual universe it would be statistically improbable for that to happen were time travel a possibility. This is even demonstrated to some degree in "Roswell" - look at all the things that happen to Enos that could have killed him but don't.

It's kinda wrong all over, since Enos never was Fry's grandfather. Fry has been since before he was born. Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey, etc.

He said something that's been a well-known theory since pretty much the dawn of time-travel in fiction.

I actually liked season 8, some episodes were underrated except yo leela leela which was horrible, but Fry Am The Egg Man is so underrated. But season 9 will be even better and here's why: the 1st 26 episodes were produced in order without public opinion. so now they know what to fix and do better. EXPECT SOMETHING GREAT!!! :)

How do you know they were done in order? And public opinion affects any episode/season... If fans say "don't do this it was lame" they won't go "do it again!"...

Fry Am The Egg Man is so underrated.

Word. I think 6B was definitely stronger towards the end; Egg Man, "Cold Warriors," "Overclockwise," and "Reincarnation" are all really great episodes. They kind of made sitting through the rest of a hit-or-miss season worthwhile.

"Fry Am The Egg Man," in particular, was really well-paced and sort of emotionally-grounded; it had some slower, quieter moments, which I personally like and thought were missing from much of 6B. Plus, it has this kind of spooky vibe that I find really neat.

Also: Great first post, SGB. Welcome to PEEL.

Fry am the Egg Man was VERY enjoyable.  I would say the Local Group Farmer's Market felt like pure classic Futurama, goofy sci fi jokes and puns, cameos from previous characters that didn't feel forced, and just general futuristic weirdness with clucking zucchinis and sentient potato men that don't mind being eaten.    The episode was let down by the planet of the Anguses, but everything before that was great, and the ending was very sweet.  Plus Fry was very much his sweet, stupid, caring self, and the moments with Mr Peppy are some of my favorite Fry moments.

Less Planet Angus, more Futurama gems like the farmer's market, please.  I thought moments like that are what Season 6 as a whole seem to be missing.  It was one of those segments that reminded me why I love the show so damn much.
