I didn't like this episode it felt like there was a lot missing. The first half was ok but it when downhill after that. I didn't get the deal with bender at all! I don't get why people thought this episode was that good?

This is why I like you. We think exactly alike!

My review:
I cannot believe the 10's rated here. Seriously. I am in shock. This was not a good episode at all. We were mostly just bored with it all. The getting arrested for overclocking thing was just fucking stupid and ridiculous. The Fry/Leela stuff was as usual, forced and eye-rolling. This was borderline a hated episode for me, but it escapes that just because everything in it was just so mundane and boring. And that ending. ugh.

3/10

Bored? What the hell do you mean bored? I'm not the biggest fan of this episode but how on God's Earth is this boring? If it's anything it's TOO adventurous with its story leaving no parts to feel dull or 'boring'...

This is only just pathetic Fry/Leela fanboys voting this 10 because of the insipid ending. Everything in this episode was either pedestrian or retarded.

I thought this was a great episode, but that has nothing to do with the Fry/Leela thing. If anything, it made the episode worse because it detracted from the excellent Bender plot.

My issues with this episode are thankfully rather uncommon. "The Bots and the Bees" is the only other episode from the new run so far which is damaged by a weak B-plot, so it's not like the writers are picking up bad habits or anything.

Maybe the "we" was just referring to a shared negative reaction during a Books-and-Bianca Futurama-watching session, and was not necessarily an attempt to make a generalization for everybody (unlike her next post)?

Hoverfish: Bending unit, you are ordered to report for factory reset.

Heh...I had a coworker like that, never threw away anything (books, magazines, newspapers).  I guess he thought that he may have needed to refer back to something there someday.

Eventually you gotta toss most of this stuff away.

I just noticed, in the flashback when the Professor clicks-without-reading, he's drinking Enslurm, what drink is that a parody of? "En" is coloured dark/navy blue and "slurm" is in the regular pink colour.

I'm pretty sure it's a parody of Ensure, which is a nutritional drink for the elderly.

I really liked this episode, and It could've served very well as a Finale if you ask me.
The Sci-Fi storyline was very cool, and was undoubtedly my favorite part of the episode. Bender merging with the universe was really creative, and his need to be cooled was pretty clever.

The story was pretty good, too. I think the idea of Bender getting overclocked is an interesting one - what could an old robot do with all that new power? The way they showed him knowing the future and zipping around very fast was, I think, a good way of visually answering that question. The main story of The Professor and Cubert going to jail was a pretty convincing one, and led to some fun to watch scenes. It was an interesting choice to have Mom be the villian of the potenetial finale, although it was not a bad one. She spiced this episode up for me, and added a little more edge to it. The Fry/Leela story was possibly the lowest point, even though it was still pretty good. I think it just needed way more screentime to explain why Leela just All-of-a-Sudden had to leave everything behind, and how Fry was dealing with it all. But, still, at least it was somewhat touching at the very ending.

On the subject of that ending, Thanks to Meanwhile, we can all assume that the very happy expression they had at the end of the episode was for all the time that they were able to spend in the Frozen Universe together, as I'm sure it was a very meaningful and heartfelt time for them in the Frozen Universe.

I gave it a 9/10.

Its really interesting how everyone seems to be divided into two camps between Meanwhile... and Overclockwise.  I guess everyone got their finale, its just that we got both of them.  Its just that OC seemed to be a much more poignant and realistic episode in terms of Fry and Leela's relationship than Meanwhile...

Thats the thing...I dont see ANYONE being happy for long in a frozen universe (Cursed by his own hubris!!), and to pretend that F+L are just seems wrong, theyve effectively lost everyone in the world but each other.

8/10 for some forced Freela dialouge, but an overall good episode.
As a finale, 7/10.

This felt incredibly depressing, especially since they're so serious about everything like the professor getting arrested or Leela leaving. So it's just kinda boring. Also not a fan of Fry and Leela's relationship so... I don't know, 2/5? Maybe a high 2.

Mixed feelings on this one. The Bender plot was solid and pretty good, especially liked Bender using his last moments of his super intellect to make Zoidberg walk under a falling light again.

However I wasn't really a huge fan of the Fry/Leela stuff, felt a little forced, there wasn't much humour in it and neither character came out of it looking great. Fry trying to commit suicide was a bit much, kind of weak and a selfish act too since he would have to have known Leela would be pretty devastated and racked with guilt if he had succeeded with it.

I can sort of understand where Leela is coming from as she must be what? late 30's by this stage and maybe see's Fry as too much of a man-child to settle down and have kids with. But leaving whilst the company and her friends are in the middle of a crisis seems a bit selfish too.

Fry asking Leela did she miss him too when she came back was a tad cringy and insecure too but I think the final scene where they read their futures was well done.

I'm guessing the writers weren't 100% sure there were going to be picked up for another season when this episode was written? If so then I can understand why they wanted to address the Fry/Leela relationship and offer fans a sweet ending in case it was cancelled but I just don't think it was that well executed, Devils hands did it better, TLPJF did it better.

I voted 7/10, its a strong 7, maybe a 7.3 or 7.4 but not quite good enough to be rounded up to an 8 imo.
