HOLY SHIT. HOW DO YOU HAVE THAT. IS THE ENTIRE EPISODE ON IT?!

That episode hasn't even aired. It only airs on the 8th of September. (As it says on the disc.) Oh wow.

POST SCREENS OF THE VIDEO GAME SEGMENT IF IT'S THE FULL EPISODE PLEASE. :D

You probably know not many people have production discs, so I think you should let me have it. I'll swap it for a Leela KidRobot.

Ooh, that's really cool. For screening purposes only, as it says on the disk. So presumably it's for critics to watch. If I had one of those, I'd hold on to it. But looking at your posts, you have 3, which is amazing.

I'll tell you that saying that everyone has it is a vast overestimation.

ericisbacchus, I know you're probably not allowed to spoil it, but can we have just one measly screenshot of the Low-Res video game segment? We've seen nothing to do with that. :(

I'll check it out tonight and report back tomorrow. I'll ask my coworkers (who are ACTUAL journalists) if it's OK on the low-res shot.

I've been asking my superiors to let me interview David X. Cohen for years. I'll give it another try next year when it comes back again.

And BTW I'll trade all my screeners (and any future ones) to the first person who can get me a Morgan Proctor-bot.

OMG you have the last ep of the season early and you haven't even watched it yet! It could have been the last episode ever, but thankfully it's not, but still it's no doubt a treat to behold. How have you found the time to take a photo of it, post it on Peel but not watch it? This is crazy! Let us know what you think, we'd appreciate it, and a few screenshots of the videogame section as others have said. We want to know, but you know that already. Oh, and welcome to Peel!...

Just watched it. Great little episode. It occurs to me that I still haven't seen the episode that debuted tonight. Oh well. It's on the DVR.

I don't know what's known about it. It sounds like you guys already know there are three different segments. One of which is the aforementioned low-res game one. Guys like me (I'm 35) who were weaned on the video games of the 80s will really get a kick out of this one. There are too many to list and I don't want to spoil it, but a couple of the quick homages are

The segment will be in 8-bit, sort of like Code Monkeys.

And apparently Scruffy's role has grown enough to the point that he now has his own chair on the PE conference table. (I know this episode isn't canon, I don't expect that to be permanent)

Also, Starpulse has posted a review of "Reincarnation", and it's pretty positive. Let's hope it'll end the season well.

Is it just me or does that look too good for 8-bit? Looks more like 16-bit to me :hmpf:...

It looks like it has more pixels than in a standard 8-bit game, but the colour-palette seems less than that of 16-bit, so... yeah.

What I find ironic is that the characters have more shading and what have you in their 8-bit forms. Fry's hair has 3 colours to it whereas normally it's just a block of orange.

Yeah the shading is odd, I guess us old skool gamers are gonna be picky about things like this, but it's true. It'll be interesting to see how this looks animated, but I dunno, I just hope it works authentically...

Thanks for the screen shot.  That looks cool!

Note that I'm not here to poo poo over fictional bit depth in a segment of an animated t.v. show.  No sir!

AUGH SO JEALOUS.

Really excited for this episode, have been for a while. As a non-gamer, I am not perturbed at all by any perceived irregularities in the video game arc.

I was thinking that as well, but one of Bender's lines, according to the review, is "Byte my 8-bit metal ass! That's 'byte' with a Y."

So based on that line alone, I made the assumption that the segment was in 8-bit. Though I could be wrong. I'm guessing that they aren't really aiming to go for any of specific 'bit'...just to make it look arcade video game-ish.
