...ew.

I'd say elbow talons and singing boils are enough to take you out of the running for Least Mutated Mutant.

So I forgot to mention this earlier but I just remembered - why does no one ever count the purple hair in the list of Leela's mutations? Maybe cos people do actually have purple hair in real life, but Leela's purple is her natural color. That isn't a normal human thing.

Hmm, that's a good point actually. Even within the world of Futurama, I don't think purple is a normal hair colour.

Was Leela's hair colour mentioned to be a mutation?
The designers might have gone for purple as natural colour (the same way with the Simpsons-blue), but then didn't reuse it much for other characters.

Again purple hair is extremely minor compared to a tentacles or being a foot with eyes or being a cyclops.   I think the purple hair was made to make Leela look more distinctive as an outsider = in Biciclops all of the supposed Cyclopses had the same shade of purple hair, no matter what their skin color was.

Still we've never had any reason to assume why purple hair isn't normal in the 31st century, the same way you can naturally have pink or green hair in anime.  Marge Simpson's hair was naturally blue from birth, and Patty/Selma and the other women in her family all have hair that is naturally shades of blue and purple.  I don't think Milhouse or his parents dye their hair either.

Even if that is the case, people might just assume Leela dyes that hair purple.  Most people are probably too freaked out by her giant eye to wonder wether her hair is natural or not (but since everyone thought she was an alien that point is moot I suppose.)

That doesn't really mean anything since it was just Alcazar trying to convince her that she belonged to his race.

But your points about the Simpsons are valid... I don't really watch much Simpsons (seen maybe like ten episodes ever) so I didn't think maybe it's just a Groening thing.

People assuming that she dyes it doesn't change the fact that she doesn't dye it. Her parents have purple hair too, so it seems like a mutant genetic thing.
