Yes, Tomb Raider is a terrible game, but that is not why Lara Croft is famous. Nobody knows the characters from Mass Effect except those who played the game.

I'm not saying she's a good or a great character (I don't really care for her or Tomb Raider), but I'm not going to deny her cultural impact. Again, she made Angelina Jolie into the superstar she is today, not the other way round. Sure she was known for things like Girl Interrupted, but Tomb Raider is what propelled her into a household name. The amount of people who know who Lara Croft is is significantly higher then anyone whose played the game. The same can be said for Sailor Moon (lots of people know what she looks like, but probably don't even know her first name in either japanese or english), and the majority of the people who collect Betty Boop merchandise have probably never seen Minnie the Moocher or any of the other Fleischer Betty Boop cartoons from the twenties. Still all three of them are instantly recognizable, even with people who have no familiarity with video games, anime, or cartoons from the thirties.
Anyway the reason I brought it up, is because Amy seems to be playing an iconic female role in the other segments. In the anime segment, she's a dead ringer for Sailor Moon, wearing a pink version of her outfit and boots, as well as sporting her classic odango hairstyle (complete with purple versions of the red jewel decs). In the Flesicher segment she resembles Betty Boop, Fleischer's most famous female character (they have smilar hairstyles, and Amy is sporting Betty's pre Hayes code strapless dress, as well as Betty's buxom hourglass figure. Sure Leela is wearing Minnie Mouse's skirt and bloomers, and Bender is wearing Micky's shorts, but they haven't been completely morphed into their characters the way Amy has been with Betty Boop.)
Again, I never thought of Amy being Lara, since Amy doesn't really have anything in common with her (Traits of Amy's personality are very similar to both Betty Boop and Sailor Moon.) So I would say if they are going with the "Amy is a classic female character" motif for each segment instead of just two, I would say Princess Peach (or Toadstool as she was known back then) would be the best choice for her. (Pauline isn't as known as Peach and Princess Zelda isn't really a match for Amy's ditzy personality.)

"Boots and Bees"...hm...wonder if they reprise some elements from "The Sting". (Seems not too plausible, for it was rather a "stand by itself" Episode, but who knows....6B was a bit weak on the continuous aspect)
Farewell to arms..yep, I second the guess about Hermes becoming a cyborg.

(Seems not too plausible, for it was rather a "stand by itself" Episode, but who knows....6B was a bit weak on the continuous aspect) I was thinking more along the lines of "the birds and the bees," and the sexual implications that has. A shippy episode, mayhaps? (And please, god, no more callbacks to "The Sting"; that Kwanzaa segment of the Holiday Spectacular was horrendous.)

True, Danny, but I still think it would be nice for the writers to follow up the presumably shippy conclusion of "Overclockwise" with another shippy episode in season seven that firmly establishes Fry and Leela's relationship. At this point I don't care if they're together or not together--I just want some conclusive, Word of God answer to the question, so that shippers like me can stop being annoyed by those offhanded remarks Fry and Leela make about sexing up other people or whatever, and non-shippers can stop being annoyed by all us whiny shippers.

Since they already ruined the Space Bees then I suppose it can't do anymore damage... can it? ...

Gorky, like always, is right. If they're not together, FINE. I just want some closure, dammit.

Non-canon or not, it still took a big ol' dump on the awesomeness that was "The Sting." I watched it, damn it, and I can't unwatch it!

That is true. But I can tune my brain to canon and non-canon. It is significant help for me, because it maintains the awesomeness of the Space Bees from "The Sting" to me.

How can we be so sure Fry and Leela will seal the deal in Overclockwise? I have a feeling they won't.
