Adds for the show is fine, (for new episodes and stuff.) but commercials for things like Coca Cola, Burger King, and other stuff would sorta ruin the show, because they'd have to make it appeal to non-nerds (Not to say all Futurama fans are nerds).

Now I like the Simpsons (From season 1 to 10 just great) and Family Guy (Family Guy only season one and two, but they were Ok at best.), in their earlier years.

On the brightside, this would mean Futurama would become hugely popular, but at what cost? I'd doubt they do this, since I think this was one of the reasons Matt Groening made this show.

I don't want corporations (Who don't care about the show, just the money.) trying to get money and sell their crap off Futurama, in there cheesy over happy looking commercials.

Good point. Not that I want the show to do bad, but it needs to keep a small-ish fanbase to prevent stuff like this happening. I doubt even if it was as popular as Simpsons that it would get Burger King ads and stuff. Look at how big Family Guy is, never seen a corny ad about them. But a lot of people do like the show, even if they aren't huge fans. It's spawned lots of memes and pop culture references, and seems more grown up than Simpsons, maybe that's why they don't do ads and stuff cause it's not the type of thing they want to appeal to kids?

Yes, I agree.  I wouldn't want Futurama to sell out.   Plus, I don't want to see any ads for it like for resturants or stores or anything like that.

I also don't want to see any public service announcements using Futurama.  Can you imagine seeing one of those about the Futurama characters encouraging people to buckle up for something like that?

I just hope DannyJC13 more people don't think Futurama is for kids. To help stop this from ever happening.

Agreed.  Can you imagine the Futurama characters doing a public service annoucement that encourages people to wear seat belts in cars or something like that?

Well seat belts are good (but yeah it still would be bad, they do save lives), but worse would be if they did an add about McDonald's latest burger.

On the other hand, Futurama themed happy meals with little Fry/Bender/Leela figurines would make me much more likely to eat at McDonalds.

This one is good too.

If futurama does parodies of public service announcements like that, That would be fine by me. It'd be really funny actually.

The only reason that there aren't Futurama tie-ins is because the show isn't popular and well-known enough to sell things. The Simpsons was a cultural phenomena, it's in a different league.

And Soylent Green Burgers, just to complete the theme...

Futurama has been used in this way before. Fry, Leela and Bender have appeared on bottles of flavoured water in Australia. That brand has had various other characters on their water including Family Guy, Simpsons and Ninja Turtles characters, to name a few.

this guy took photo(s) for his ebay auction. I never saw them again after my initial confused discovery at a cafe or something, never bought one. Turns out I saved his photo and never got around to sticking it on the Infosphere. Probably because I still haven't gotten to filling in the merchandise section. That image is up now, because no one else ever seems to have taken a photo.

I can just see them doing a Public Service Annoucment for Seat Belts.  Bender would strap Fry into a chair and say, Buckle Up or Bite My Shiny Metal Ass!    I remember The Flintstone Kids did a PSA like that once on ABC Saturday Morning during the 90's.

As for a Futurama Happy Meal, it would be for adults.

The universe needs to make a Fishy Joe's, and then ads for Futurama.

Oh Futurama Happy Meal! Another great FHM! :D

I'd buy Futurama Happy Meal toys for sure. Not sure if I'd actually eat a Happy Meal. I mean, I'd rather eat something a little more substantial. Like half a cow.

Perhaps if enough people demand them, McDonalds will make them?

There's a Wheat Thins commercial with Stewie and Bryan from Family Guy. I wouldn't mind Apple using Futurama in an advertisement, since Futurama advertises Apple anyway. Or any product that ties in with the show's sci fi theme. I would want it to be written by a Futurama writer though for sure. Commercial writers are all idiots and I don't want them soiling these great characters.

It would be enough to make ME eat there, and I boycotted the place for almost a decade.

Happy meals aren't even advertised here anymore. It's actually quite sad. I used to get so excited to find out if the next months happy meal was worth getting, and I'd know by the ads. Now 95% of the time when I'm in a mcdonalds, or walk past one (not that much, btw), they don't even have the little board where it says what toy you get. Or it just says "surprise toy".

Ah yes, I've seen those on the shelves before. I didn't buy any though, because I prefer my water as water.

Yeah, I never got the point of flavoured water.  If I want fruit juice, I'll drink fruit juice.   If I want soda, I'll drink a soda.  If I want water, I drink water.  Nature has taught us no good can come of drinking water that tastes funny.

Still, I'd prefer water that tastes like juice to juice that tastes like water. And don't even get me started on coke that tastes like water.

UrL you should've bought one of those Futurama water bottles just to have it. Then again, that's advice from a packrat.

Flavoured water has such a strange, not bad, but strange taste to it. Like your body knows it isn't juice but it tastes kind of the same. I remember drinking that flavoured water I think it had the face of a clown on it...memories

It wasn't anything fancy; just a bottle with a picture of Fry, Leela or Bender on it.

Also, it was well before I was a big fan of the show.
