Welcome to PEEL Anita, I hope you hang around  :)

I don't want to upset you but Channel Four just finished repeating series 2 in the mornings, I think I read around here somewhere that series 3 should start in September.

Welcome to PEEL Anita    :)

Futurama has been on on quite recently in the UK. During, and for a while after the Easter holidays, it was on every week day at 8:30 in the morning on Channel 4.

I take it you don't have Sky, if you do then it's on 7:00pm every Sunday    :)

Hey there, Anita!

I was worried that this would turn out to be another thread about the D-Word , but, whew, it's not.

I don't know what the D word is either, pity you weren't here a few weeks back, then you'd have read about it being on, it wasn't well advertised at all, and was at 8:30am  :(

Just so you know, the "D" word is download, and there's not supposed to be any download questions :)

You said that you havn't been told about the showings, I'm afraid that's probably because of the poor advertising and lousy timeslot.

Channel 4 stopped the repeats of Futurama's second season with ONE EPISODE TO GO, so they could start their new breakfast TV show, RI:SE.

RI:SE's wiewing figures for it's first day were lower then GMTV on ITV, the breakfast show on BBC1, and even the kids shows on BBC2.  And people say Futurama's ratings are slipping...

Well, I for one didn't watch it, I would have tuned in to four if they'd finished series two repeats, I have it on tape, but it is in the middle of a tape as last time series 2 was on I missed several episodes so re-recorded them, oh well I'll buy the boxed set when it comes out.

I never really know when its on here (UK) any more - I watch me m8s videos and some episodes from a LAN I got.

I think in the UK the main reason that there isn't a big following is that its not aired on the right channel.  When the show started over here I read an article in the paper about it and theough 'oh, that sounds good', so I made an effort to watch it.  i watched an episode or two then forgot the time it was on etc.  If it had been put on on friday evening @ 6 on BBC 2 I think loads more people would have watched it - most people in the target audience would be watching BBC2 at that time anyway.  Also I think it takes a bit of time to get in to - certainly did for me, so if you miss it a few times at the start there is not much motivation to get back to watching it.

The 8:30 timeslot was ridiculous. I simply made an effort to tape it whenever it was on before going off to work/college. I cant wait for series 2 to come to video. I will definately buy that, but Im not so sure about season 3. It seemed to go rather downhill from thereon.

Really? I'd say it became a lot more inconsistant, some episodes like "That's Lobsertainment" didn't cut it. But there are so many gems, like "The Luck Of The Fryrish", "Parastites Lost" and "Roswell That Ends Well", to name but a few. Even the worst episodes are still great too :)

Hey, the 8:30 time slot rocks! Don't mess with it! Why don't they put Malcolm on Thursdays at 8pm and give Futurama its original timeslot back! I want to watch an hour of pure comic genius! (The Simpsons and Futurama), not watch at 7, wait and then watch again at 8!

RI:SE was beaten by C5s 'Bear in the big blue house'! Being beaten by a C5 2- year old program is pathetic!

Thats because RI:SE is boring. All morning TV is boring except the occasional gem on UK Gold.

Thats sort of what I was saying. Almost every episode from the first 2 serieses were great, but some in the third, as you have already said, werent as great, and thus I will probably record the best eps from S3 onto tape for later viewing.

Putting it on at 8:30 AM is ridiculous, what the hell were they thinking? It seems the TV companies don't have a clue and pass it off as a children’s program

Well at least it got me out of bed.

Incidentally, the shop I got the DVDs from, it said "Children's DVD" on the receipt, despite the fact it's a certificate 12.  D'oh!

Heheh, but no one pays attention to the ratings much. Some episodes get labeled with just a TV-PG, while some (I think "Amazon Women in the Mood&quot ;) get the whole enchirito, TV-PG LDSV.
