What would you all do if the opening credits of Futurama have changed?  Had a dream about it that the opening credits had a siren going on and  it shows Leela, Bender, Hermes, and Amy running to the ship and then they all slid down poles, and ran into the ship and, and Leela starts the engine and Bender screams "All Systems Go!"  Then the PE ship goes into space and the logo appears and it plays Deep Purple's Space Trucking during it.

And it shows some spaceships trying to attack the PE Ship and they blow up all the spaceships and cheer.

What would you all do if this had happened to the Opening Credits?  If that happened, I'd be fine.   After all American Dad and South Park changed their opening credits.

Honestly, I'd probably be rather upset, but it could be awesome, provided they didn't just throw the title up there like Stargate SG-1 was doing for awhile.

I don't think there'd be any reason for them to change the opening credits.

The SG-1 credits were decent at one point, then they went with the terrible CGI-gate-abortion thing for the last couple of seasons. :nono: That was worse, IMO than when they just smashed the title onto the screen and got straight on with the episode.

Everything about the last couple seasons was worse than what came before, IMO. :-D

They need to make it slightly longer like in the original run.  :D

No need to change the opening credits, The Simpsons opening was dated, but Futurama's won't become dated until the year 3000 and we'll all be dead then anyway, as will the show. Now I made myself sad :(...

Although the imagery of seeing the PE crew slide down fireman's poles tickles my sense of humor, I think that sort of thing would be best reserved for some sort of special outing a la the BBS intro - which was epic in just about every way.

No, the only thing they need to do with the intro is bring back the unabridged, full length animation and the original theme song.  The video game remix worked well for the movies, but it doesn't seem to fit so well in episodic format.  Also, the mix for the credits is a nightmare - its like they strung together fifty tiny pieces of the song together and it doesn't sound coherent.

I like the remix, but it needs to be the same length as the old one.  :D

It really wouldn't affect the overall quality of the show in my mind but I do appreciate the subtle variations of the original opening that have been explored so far so this idea really tickles my interest

It would be funny to see the PE Crew slide down fireman poles.  But for some reason, I didn't see Fry or Zoidberg in my dream.....

Speak for yourself, I'm gonna freeze myself :p

The opening credits don't need to change, unless they want to include more of the now regular characters as background scene gags in it (Hedonism Bot, hypnotoad, etc.) Did anyone ever watch Dilbert? That show had one of the greatest opening credits scene of a cartoon show that I witnessed.

I, for one, hate Stargate SG-1.  It doesn't even have Kurt Russel in it.  Fuck that show.

I agree. A lot of it has to do with Danny Elfman's song, but I thought that opening sequence really does convey the desperation and madness of that twisted world of a workplace.

Are you on a wind up? I like Kurt Russel but MacGyver definitely makes a better O'Neil.

Winna just loves Kurt Russell a little *too* much.

That said, SG-1 was a lot better when it had RDA actually *in* it.
