Hmmm just seems interesting to see everyone's thoughts. They are all great in their own way, but what would you say is you favorite?

"Xmas Story" is my favorite, if only because it seems like sort of a prototype for the more emotionally-grounded episodes that would come in seasons three and four. I'm just a big ol' sap, truly.

I like X-Mas Story a lot, but A Tale of Two Santas is just so darkly funny.  I remember being so shocked by it (in the best way) when it first aired; it's got some great sadistic jokes they've rarely matched before or since.  One of my favorite episodes.

Way past Christmas, but I'll post mine. Originally posted on the 28th, but it got removed due to the server problems. Here it goes:

1) Xmas Story
2) A Tale of Two Santas
3) The Futurama Holiday Spectacular

But if Bender's Big Score Part 3 counted, then that would take 3rd place and bump the Holiday Spectacular to 4th.

I also posted before. But I'm definitely going for Xmas Story. Also, I think I've figured out why the title on 6ACV13 was changed. The episode itself had no [IMO] Val-U, so I'd say that the current title is better. :hmpf:

I agree completely with this. But replace "emotionally grounded" with "funny".

Xmas Story definitely. The storyline was the best, funny jokes, introduction of Robot Santa, plus an almost kiss by Fry and Leela. Couldn't have asked for a better Christmas special to be honest. :)

Sec... on... ded..?

No, but agreed with. I'd say that the first act was the funnies for me. But that was probably because of the change of environment.

Behind is "That episode including neptune, written by Bill Odenkirk, and that was a bit dark, but with a fun Zoidberg being Jesus moment, and still being a solid episode".

"The crap [for Futurama] that wasn't worthy of Al Gore, with cheap jokes such as the Albino Humping Worm, "They are'll dead", "Santa's coming!", and all that other stuff was a bit funny but bad by Futurama means".   :nono:

^ Yeah, not my fave ep.  :hmpf:

I could have sworn I'd already posted/voted in this ...

Anyways, my favourite is Xmas Story with A Tale Of Two Santa's close behind, and then Holiday Craptacular a very, very... very distant third. In fact it doesn't even deserve to be written in the same sentence as the other two, it's a disgrace to the Xmas Futurama eps. Xmas Story is one of my fave eps of the show and A Tale Of Two Santa's is also great hilarious holiday fun!...

You raise a good point. If only the first segment wasn't Xmas we could cast this abomination off away from any association with the previous two Xmas episodes...

Usually on the commentaries the staff are usually truthful with their opinions (Even admitting that some jokes fail etc.)

Not having the season DVD at this very moment, what do they say about the Holiday Craptacular? (There's got to be one staff member who said something bad about it...)

No, I went for 'A Tale of Two Santas'. I don't really remember much about the Xmas episodes, only 2 scenes:

Xmas Story - Fry on the Clock Tower after the Parrot.
A Tale of Two Santas - The Magnet execution machine. :evillaugh:

I think people tend to blow the suckiness of the Spectacular out of proportion. It is really not THE WORST THING EVARRRR. Bits of it are actually quite amusing. I'd say the Albino Humping Worm is actually one of the best things ever.

I dunno, I'm feeling a bit compelled to change to Xmas Story over Two Santas. I definitely like the plot of Xmas Story better, but the song in Two Santas is killer and they're both totally hilarious.

The thing with Holiday Craptacular is that it really is terrible and one of two good jokes doesn't save it, they just mean there's at least something worthwhile to look forward to if you're subjected to the torture of having to watch this crapfest. Some utterly dreadful jokes do more damage and pretty much undo any of the good which comes from the one of two good jokes within the episode...

This is why it makes me utterly horrified to see that someone has voted for Holiday Craptacular over arguably two of the best episodes of the series. Xmas Story has it all, the jokes of which a large and overwhelming majority work and are absolutely hilarious. Well written memorable scenes, superb animation and even some heart and emotion (some of the first deep heart of the series). It really achieves its goal of a futuristic fun holiday episode, and then some...

A Tale Of Two Santas also achieves what it sets out to do, this time a little darker in tone, but not at the peril of the episodes quality. Again there are countless fantastic and funny jokes, great animation and background designs and even a song which actually works! It's actually funny and it flows nicely, unlike any of the three terrible songs in Holiday Craptacular...

I'm aware that how much someone likes an episode is subjective, but there is a clear quality difference here, one which I find mind-boggling for someone who apparently didn't see this, unless they voted purely to be a troll...

Another interesting observation; when A Tale Of Two Santas originally aired, although it garnered a mostly positive response from the Futurama community, overall Xmas Story was still the preferred episode. It's interesting to see now that the overall majority seems to have shifted somewhat to a closer to equal rating since those times. Not that that's a bad thing, just an observation...

I came here to vote for The Holiday Spectacular to troll you guys but saw that I'd already voted for A Tale of Two Santas and had forgotten about it.

But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if whoever voted for the Craptacular is just trolling.

Ugh I accidentally voted for the Holiday Spectacular, which is not only not the best Xmas episode but the worst episode over all. A Tale of Two Santas is the best in my opinion. The episode is high quality throughout but the fact that it has one of my favorite moments from the entire series pulls it ahead.

Zoidberg: "I help those who help themselves!"
