Futurama is not now a kids show. However, just like Bugs Bunny, The Flintstones & The Jetsons (which were originally adult animation but are now shown as kids cartoons), it may be shown on Saturday Morning cartoon shows in 20-30 years.
Screw that! Futurama, should be shown at it's end on Comedy Central or Adult Swim, or some other big network, even if it's over! Putting it on a kids channel makes so sence! And can you give us a source to back up; Bugs Bunny, The Flintstones, Jetsons were for adults? I really find that hard to believe. This show has nudity, sex and drug jokes for crying out loud! So this show gonna have to be censored to hell if it's gonna be on a kids channel, thus ruining the show!
It's not like the standard of age ratting is gonna change much, like GTA for kids, still ultra violent, but balloons come out of them in instead of blood!

I doubt it would be with 'kids shows' in 20-30 years tbh. Children would never understand the stories to futurama. Ok, I know that there are theories (such as the flynn effect) that new generations of people are slightly increasing in intelligence, but still, I very much doubt that children would be able to understand the storylines/plots to futurama. (The jokes too, but mainly the plots). I know that there's hidden 'adult jokes' in childrens cartoons like the flintstones etc, but still, as I said, it's the storylines/plots of futurama which could never be in a 'kids show'.

Kid's show? It's among the naughtiest (teehee) cartoons around behind South Park, Family Guy, and your anime. And that's why I love it! In fact the only kids it does have on it are rarely seen Cubert and Dwight, and they don't really act like kids...just superintelligent midgets, I mean, those who are vertically challenged. That's where Futurama trumps Simpsons, it's not heavily focused on kids melodrama, it's about desperate twentysomethings trying to make it through the universe. Awesome. Futurama is not now a kids show. However, just like Bugs Bunny, The Flintstones & The Jetsons (which were originally adult animation but are now shown as kids cartoons), it may be shown on Saturday Morning cartoon shows in 20-30 years.
oh what a creepy thought.

maybe in 20-30 years from now, we will see Futurama on Saturday mornings (or daytime TV) lol.
I highly doubt that. I've been told it's "male humour" before.
I'd say Futurama is more adult/teen nerd humor.

My parents have this idea that Futurama is exactly like The Simpsons but in space. They despise The Simpsons (especially Homer) and I do too, and therefore my dedication to watching this cartoon is beyond them (and me watching cartoons at the ripe old age of 15 anyway ) Now, The Simpsons - to me - is a children's program. Well, it falls within the "family" genre at least, and not just because it's about an American family. Futurama's characters are in their 20's and 30's, they exist in an entirely different time with amazingly advanced space travel technology, interplanetary communication and alcohol drinking robots! Two entirely different shows. Of course, Futurama echos Simpsons humor here and there, but that's expected because it's created by the same person. Honestly, when I watch Futurama I forget about it's association with The Simpsons altogether. Fry is not essentially Homer. Leela is not essentially Marge. They don't seem to understand that, and by the two shows being associated with eachother they don't give it a chance. I love Futurama because I get it, I find it hilarious and I'm nerdy! I don't find The Simpsons funny, I don't like the characters/find them "lovable" enough to care what the hell they do. My mother did watch Insane in the Mainframe with me last week when I was sick, and I heard her laugh at every joke! I'm hoping it's won her over so I can watch it with her more often, because even though I watch it with my little cousin he's just too young to get most of it. Sorry, had to vent here

Note: Others would have answered this question already above. i think its a 16 and plus but its not a kids show its jocks have plots that kids will not under stand
What jocks are these, and why do they have plots?
There are many such as the "Kegelcizer", the alien languages, historical jokes, many many obscure sci fi references, sex jokes (A really dirty one said by Bender: I need mouth-to-ass resuscitation), political jokes, old movie references, math jokes, binary, and much more. Which would make some plot confusing for kids, even among adults. For a lot of Futurama's jokes are nerdy, though not all.
