Holy crap! This came out of nowhere! Thanks for the heads-up, Boxy Robot. :)

Awesome news! Hopefully the season 7B DVD/Blu-ray release isn't too far away! :D

With new Simpsons starting tonight too, "Simpsorama" should be shown over here on the 7th December.

This is great news, I didn't expect to hear about this until way into next year! I want to finish my Futurama Blu-Ray collection...

Although, when on earth will we ever get Simpsorama on Blu-Ray? I dread to think...

Well, on the most recent Simpsons DVD release (season 16) the episode "Holidays of Future Passed" was included as a special feature. On the upcoming season 17 DVD, "The Man Who Grew Too Much" is going to be included as a special feature which means if this tradition is to be kept up (and the crossover has some relevance to the theme of the set), we may be seeing "Simpsorama" on an upcoming Simpsons release.

That's a good point, hopefully then. Although why are The Simpsons sets in the UK only released on DVD and not Blu-Ray? In America they get both. Makes me think that even if we do get Simpsorama on an earlier set it'll just be DVD only in the UK :hmpf:...

I guess that'd be okay, I was hoping we'd get a stand-alone release of the crossover on DVD & Blu-ray, but it seems pretty unlikely. :hmpf:

I'd imagine it'd come out in some sort of Simpsons collection thingy before the season 26 dvd finally gets released. It's also possible we'll get another Monster Robot Maniac collection for the Comedy Central era of Futurama, in which case, I'd be willing to bet that the episode is included as a bonus extra.

Didn't know about the bonus episodes on the last two Simpsons dvds, though. Is that on all the editions, or just the UK version?

I'm pretty sure it's all of them. Although, again, it usually includes an episode linked to the theme of the box (so Frink being on the set resulted in the future Christmas episode and with Sideshow Bob on the cover, the episode included is the most recent Bob episode). I'm not entirely too sure how likely it is that the crossover will fit in with any further release.

Couldn't help notice that a scene was cut from the episode they aired yesterday, most likely because of the earlier time it was shown. It's when the PE ship returns to the 3rd dimension & Bender hops out, lights 4 cigars at once and says "We're back, baby!"

They probably cut it because it shows drug use? Also, next week's ep is on even earlier, at 6:30pm. Expect to see even more cut scenes. :hmpf:

More likely to fit it in with all the ads and shit, I'd imagine.

I don't know what things are like in the UK, but that seems like an incredibly stupid thing to censor.

Well, every single season of South Park released on DVD here has been rated 15 except for season 7, which is rated 18 purely because of the "Butt Out" episode, which features lots of smoking.

I recall season 6A having a few cut scenes back when it aired in the UK in 2011, such as Fry's "penis" line in Rebirth, but I'm pretty sure it aired before 8pm. 8pm onwards seems to be the time they allow more mature stuff.

That's not true.

The only episode of South Park that's rated 18 is "The Brown Noise" from season 3 and it's because of the subplot where Mr. Garrison is upset that his dad didn't molest him as a child, which is fair enough if you ask me.

And 9pm is the official start of "the watershed" which is when broadcasters will allow adult content on television, but they often censor things more heavily, the earlier you go, just to be safe.

Are you sure? The only season I have that says 18 on the side is season 7. :hmpf:

It still seems weird that they'd single that one out though, seeing as the show tackled the subject of molestation in multiple episodes afterwards, to a much more severe degree.

And yeah, we have similar censorship rules in Australia. 8:30pm's our watershed for "adult content," though you can't show PG-rated stuff before 7pm, meaning they'd have to cut episodes of The Simpsons down to a G (the daily repeats were on at 6pm, though of course, when the same episodes aired again in later timeslots, they'd be restored, at least). Weird little things like that would get cut out all the time.

Only just realised the new season was on! Will save me getting the imported version of volume 8, I've been meaning to get it all year and never got round to it!

It's rated 18 because of the "C" word in the "Raisins" episode.

Seems like a bizarre reason (if it's true, of course), given that they weren't technically saying the word... Granted, it was a very clever way around the censors, but still. They've done worse.

Eh, it's not that bizarre. Trey Parker even expresses how utterly baffled he was that they got away with it on the commentary for that episode.

So, according to my TV guide, "Murder on the Planet Express" will be shown this Sunday (11th Jan), then next Sunday (18th Jan) they're showing "Meanwhile"...? What happened to "Stench and Stenchibility"? They're either skipping it or they're gonna show it after "Meanwhile", for some reason. :hmpf:

That'd be downright bizarre.

Does SkyOne show Game of Thrones in the UK? Could it possibly be that they're holding it back for some sort of Game of Thrones night, considering the guest star? That'd be weird, but it'd be less weird than just missing out the episode altogether.

Maybe the guide is just wrong.

My TV let me view the schedule for Sunday the 25th Jan, the slot where new Futurama should be just says "To Be Announced", that it's a "special" and that it first aired on 10/04/10. Odd.

Into the Wild Green Yonder could be considered a "special" and that came out in 2010.

Not that it'd make much sense for that to air out of nowhere and if the slot is only half an hour, it could only be one part, meaning it wouldn't be much of a special after all. Perhaps some sort of "making of" documentary from 2010?

Their details are probably just wrong.

The slot now says that "The Bots and the Bees" is going to be shown again. :hmpf:

I'm not too bothered anyway, the 7B Blu-ray is out at the start of next month.
