+1. But neither of Vols 1-7 was released in my country. And they won't be released here in the nearest future, despite constant cable repeats of Seasons 1-6 (including 6B). If someday they do, then I'll buy them immediately. Futurama needs support both in TV ratings and DVD/BD sales.

Yeah. Especially if it's a show like Futurama where the numbers are really important to keeping the show alive. I know they're unlikely to really care about how well DVD sales go down in the UK but it can't exactly hurt.

I was on a site yesterday that lists a bunch of US TV shows and when they should be coming on in the UK, dunno how reliable it is, but Futurama (Season 6B) was listed under non-specified or something, it just said "Early 2013".

By the way, the DVD/Blu-ray has been pushed back to April 1st... Ugh.

Yes, it is...However I can access all of my favorite British works via Netflix and on my 42' 1080i mounted on the wall.

I can do that with my 50" 1080 progressive tele that's not mounted on the wall. Then again my tele isn't PAL so shows don't look odd half the time due to fps being at 50 for you guys. 29.97 FPS for the win! Also my Blu Ray player and my Apple TV both get Netflix. But the Apple TV lets me play off what I'm editing so that's a huge plus.

April 1st is the first day of the new financial year. Who else thinks they knew it wouldn't come out this financial year, have no real release date, so just picked the first day of the new financial year for now because they plan on releasing it sometime in the new financial year, but don't actually know when it's really due because of Sky's bullshit scheduling?...

I've moved beyond annoyed/disappointed at this point, I just don't care anymore. When I asked Eric Rogers a year ago on twitter when season 6 was coming out, I mentioned I couldn't wait until Christmas. I want to slap year ago me in the ear.

Sky say a lot of things, mostly through their arse. Sky do a lot of things, mostly through their arse too. I really hate how this release is dependent how this crap company handles matters. As if paying extra for programs on Sky on top of paying a TV licence isn't enough, no, apparently not. They have to fuck with things they really ought not to, not that I'll ever subscribe this shitty company ever again...

The broadcaster has also announced that the twenty-fourth season of The Simpsons will premiere on Sunday March 24th at 6pm with a double-bill, while what is being called the “eighth season” of Futurama (which aired state-side as season 6b) will premiere on Friday March 29th at 7:30pm, leading into new episodes of The Middle.

Hopefully they air 7a and 7b soon after. (And I would get to see a season before it gets added to Netflix as well) They should have put The Simpsons at 7pm, would have made a good 2 hour block for comedy.

I'm pretty angry about the many delays of these dvds too, and to be quite honest, I'm starting to get a little worried. Archer Season 3 was delayed too!

This may sound a bit... weird, but would it be possible that Fox have 'given up' on the European market? Like, if the DVDs haven't been doing too well, is there a chance that they went "screw it", kinda like they did back with the King of the Hill releases?

It does suck that we have to wait so long, but with 6B definitely airing on the 29th, I think the 24th June release date for it's DVD/Blu-ray is pretty solid this time. I hope.

Bad news. I sent an e-mail to FOX regarding the Season 6 UK release. They had this to say:

"Many thanks for your recent enquiry and interest regarding the home entertainment release of Futurama S6. At present we do not have this title scheduled for an exact release.

However, we do value your feedback and we do review potential Catalogue titles for release on DVD, on an on-going basis and will forward your comments to our Catalogue Marketing team.

So yeah... I guess picking up a region free DVD player would be to best option at this point.
