Nothing, I was just confirming which channel the new(-ish) season will air on.

Season 6B CONFIRMED to air in December on Sky 1! :D

A year and six months late...

Source.

Yes, yes, YES! About time too! I wonder if this means the DVD release will be pushed forward, I doubt it but we can only hope :)

If it does get pushed forward, I predict the earliest possible date we can get it will be late February. :hmpf:

December really isn't a great time to air new episodes. What with the Christmas season coming, new shows usually appear on Sky. It will probably have to take a few breaks between the 20th and 31st and it most likely won't get good ratings when up against big Christmas dramas and such. Still, I'm glad it's finally going to air - can't wait.

This is the first time that 6B will have aired on British television and, more importantly, it suggests the DVD/blu-ray will be released shortly afterwards instead of being pushed back again like it already has been a few times.

Most of us watch the episodes before they air on UK television through "alternative means" involving the internet, because, come on. We can't be expected to wait a year and 6 months; that's ridiculous.

I have to watch them on internet, because even 6A hasn't been shown in TV here.
At least I'm going to get season 6 DVD soon.

That's the strangest thing I've ever read. There's nothing offensive about ATPH, unless they're insecure enough to be offended by harmless British stereotypes.

To be fair, ATPH is an episode I found pretty offendive. But that's still one of the weirdest/funniest things I've read in a while.

Whoever wrote this barely knows how to make sense. At least it wasn't anything like that Family Guy British segment from the "Viewer Mail 2" episode, THAT was awful!

I personally don't think that ATPH was a bad episode, but really needed improvement that's for sure. But I hate when people tackle down the little things though, like it's a cartoon! Why give a shit?

Something I like about Family Guy when they parody the Brits is that they catered for everyone, and I guess they're like that with other nationalities as well. Like, they'll have your bad teeth and posh accent gags, but they also include stuff that actually happens in Britain, like the radio news broadcast of weird place names. But with ATPH, it was only the former. It's literally the only time family guy has bested futurama in any kind of category for me.

Especially as that thing is out for quite some time in Germany, and I do assume they did not have to create a country specific dubbing for the British market.

Blame Sky, they decide when futurama airs in the UK, and the later they choose, the later it comes out on DVD.

Considering it has been over a year now since the first half of season six was shown in the UK means that something must be very wrong.

It is getting beyond a joke now and I would imagine most UK futurama fans will all end up viewing the episodes illigally online as they pretty much have no other choice.

I have a slight worry that maybe Sky have actually lost the broadcasting writes to air the show here, it would make sense giving the lack of information and false air dates for January 2013 shown back in June 2012 which haven't even happend.

I'd love Sky to lose the broadcasting rights because then a channel that would actually give a crap could snap them up.

But I think Sky gets dibs because it's basically the UK's subsidiary of Fox to the best of my knowledge.

I could understand Sky's dismissal of new episodes if they never played Futurama and presumably it didn't fit into what they were trying to do with the channel, but being at my parents' home over Christmas and seeing what was on Sky - well, Futurama was playing constantly. And it was basically just season 5 (the movies) on an endless loop, which suggests the newer stuff goes down well.
I don't understand why they wouldn't be champing at the bit to play brand new episodes of a show they clearly consider to be a staple of their schedules.

I think FX is the uk version of Fox over here. Not 100% sure on that, but I even think they're changing they're name to Fox soon as well... We also have a uk comedy central here. Let's hope one of those takes futurama on...

Apparently Fox owns 39.1% of Sky.

I think Fox UK is a fairly recently launched channel, isn't it - hence why Sky got first dibs on all of Fox's shows to a point.

Just download them already! You don't have to wait forever. It's a bright side of internet piracy: you can "try" a copy of discs until Vol.6 is finally released in your country to be bought :).

I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of us have done that already.

It's just that like... we like to own things properly. Well, I certainly do if I like it as much as Futurama. Also special features.
