Well... What a bizarre start to the day.

There I was happily browsing through PEEL and listening to Radio 6 (for the first time) when Phil Jupitus announces that MG is coming on the show for an hour.

I quickly rattle off a few e-mail questions (none of which get read out) but I did manage to corner the great man in the chatroom.

Very, very interesting response! An idle threat that he may take his creation to another network? Or failing that take any new creations to other networks? FOX be warned. Snub your greatest cash cow and you may lose it!

Also here's a link to a sound bite (MP3) that I have put together from the show with Matt talking about Futurama and the support he's getting from the fans! (Yayyyy!)

Oh, cool clip. I wondered how Brits might react to a certain Star Trek replacement cast-member... And since I just blasted yet another big angry gust out me arse about FOX's treatment of Futurama, that "on to bigger and better networks" crack was especially tasty. My thanks to you.

I'm having problems downloading the clip.  Can someone give us the gist of what it said?

Thanks, wiggles. Nice MP3. Nice knowing we have Matt's full support in our campaign (I wonder if it was about time to send that e-mail again. It's been 7 hours since the last, and still no repsons).

Welshy  :laff:, never gets old.

And that bit about "onto bigger and better networks", great. I actually hope he do move on, and allow FOX to drown in their own, homemade reality junk.

Links to the Whole Bloody Thing, transcripts or voice clip. But I'd never know about it were it not for Wiggles.

EDIT: Whoops, transcript and clip are NOT the same interview as Wiggles' clip is from. Sorry about that. Still looking...

...Anyway, Wiggles' clip discusses the fan reaction in light of the "hiatus/cancellation" fiasco, and "Welshy" from Where No Fan Has Gone Before. Keep trying!

Just double-checked the link. Seems to work ok.

Try "Right-clicking" and selecting "Save Target As". Give it a few seconds, Freeserve can be a bit slow.

It gets to 18% and says "server connection reset". I've tried it 3 times now, and every time the sme thing.

EDIT: Ignore above. I got it eventually.

I've been able to listen to the first twelve seconds, but it won't download any more.  This is everybody's fault but mine!

Who's Welshy?

Hmmm... For reference its about 53 secs long. If lots of people are having trouble getting the whole thing then:

1) Complain to Freeserve.
2) Ask mArc nicely and he might host it locally.

PS. mArc >> I can e-mail it to you if need be.

Looks like even if Fox does screw the show over, Matt will take it to a different network. He already said in another interview that he preferes Futurama to The Simpsons. One day, when the fith production season rolls around, Futurama might be treated with dignity  :)

Kind of off-topic, but you bloody Brits have a much nicer Official Futurama Site than we bloomin' Yanks do. Trailers, clips, and everything. Only the character bios are lacking, and that ALL the US site has! Strewth!

Cool! I didnt know that too.

A nice intro, although not great its better than the US one.

BTW well done with that Wiggles, interesting comment on the whole Fox thing. You can kinda sense the tension between him and Fox, I especially liked the "better networks" line. Funny, but probably not wise to upset them.

There is a clip up at BBC that claims to be the interview done by Phil Jupitus. I don't know. I doesn't seem to contain Wiggles' clip. Anywho, listen to it here!

And while you're there, why don't you UKians try enter the contest to win some genuine Groening drawings. Only open to UKians and quite easy (ends May 13th).
