hmmm...so we get stuck at 12 votes for days and then I mention how I will come home and close the poll in a day and we jump up to 15 votes.  And now the vote is close with Devil's Hands having 6 votes and Jurassic Bark having 5 votes.  Should I wait another 24 hours since the voting seems to be back on?  For now, I'll leave it open (as long as the votes keep coming).

That's to be expected.  All the really obvious episodes have already been chosen, and we are getting to the point where there are no clear favorites from a large group of viable choices, resulting in a wide but shallow list of candidates.

Completely agreed. Ya can't say that any episode was bad, but anything written by Ken Keeler's got to win.
