@bend-err: Could you catch a screengrab or three of the scene where they fetch Orson Welles' head from the museum?
Frank Welker has a cameo in that scene -- his head's on the shelf just above Orson Welles (and very appropriately placed, I must say). But even viewing the rerun I didn't get a chance to see what other heads were on the shelves.
And I don't have the luxury of fancy-schmancy DVR.

Has the head museum always been alphabetized? I don't think it has, but I'm still impressed.
Also: Isn't Dawn Wells Mary Anny from Gilligan's Island? Who'da thunk she'd end up sharing such coveted shelf space with the spokesman for Paul Masson wine?

there are even background gags referencing the show on Star Trek: The Next Generation (like the mention of Yoyodyne on the Enterprise's dedication plaque - it can't be read by the TV viewer, but it's even acknowledged in the official, canonical Star Trek Encyclopedia that it was built by Yoyodyne).
Wouldn't any mention of Yoyodyne more likely be a reference to The Crying of Lot 49, its point of origin?

The subject matter of this episode wasn't as original or exciting as it could have been, and I did cringe at Fry's self-sacrifice (it still is a heroic and touching thing for him to do, but it does seem to be getting old at this point), but it was a pleasant enough episode nonetheless. And...that's pretty much all I have to say about it. Transmission over!

I loved the episode but I can see that is not so among the peelers. I think Lrr is cool, so I say it was a 10. When fry got hit by the teleporting gun, at the time I did not realize it was the teleporter. I was like, you have to be kidding me, Fry is dead once again. I think I said something along the lines of "What the Hell".
