I think overall, Season 6 has been great. There's been a couple of stinkers (more than usual might I add) but the average quality, especially in 6B, has been fantastic.

I actually think 6ACV is very similar to 1ACV. There were a couple of really good episodes, but most were merely "decent". If that's the case, then they should pick up a bit. (Although if I'm honest, I think Season 2 was the worst.)

Regardless, a mix of great episodes and average episodes is much better than no episodes at all.

I loved Season 2. The show was picking off the ground and just taking flight. It had some damn funny moments.

Yeah, but it had the smallest amount of "great" episodes. I also think Season 2 is the most "sitcomy" if that makes sense.

Solid episode. I enjoyed the scene where they're going into the basement with Farnsworth's great line about something sinister.

I agree, it had more of 8/10s than anything else. it felt like a solid season, but there was nothing special.

Something about Season 2 puts me off too... :hmpf:

Maybe it's the side of the box art? It's really dull.

Listening to the commentary right now, Claudia Katz mentions she went on a forum and someone posted that they hadn't seen the episode yet yet they still disliked it and they were suspicious about it... I've looked on the first 3 or 4 pages of this thread, can't see anything.

Maybe it was in the Usenet forum (alt.fan.futurama or alt.tv.futurama).

Quote
She said that the poster had only seen the trailer or something, and someone replied like "How can you judge it off of the trailer?" and then they posted again later on after seeing it going "10/10! 10/10!"

Well it wasn't me ... I posted that I hated the *title* ("worst title ever") before I saw the episode. After seeing the episode, I realized I was too kind in my comment. (BTW, I'm not a cat person.)

Last night as we were watching the news, I marveled aloud at a clip of people moving en masse somewhere overseas. My husband and I got to talking about having seen aerial footage of people moving around Mecca and he said "That's how the cats have really harnessed Earth's power."

Got me to thinking of this episode and how I ought to toss in a review. I found it to be a mostly meh episode, but the Cash Bone commercial at the beginning and Zoidberg's "I'm petting mine down to the bone!" joke were pretty good. While it seems like a lot of thought went into putting it all together, it just wasn't as funny as some other episodes from the season. I did like how the cats were drawn to resemble their Planet Express counterparts, kind of in keeping with the whole owner/pet resemblance joke.

I feel like this episode suffers from being directly after TLPJF. If it was positioned a few places earlier, it might be held in higher regard.

I'm a cat person, and I like this episode. It's not groundbreaking, but it's a fun 21 minutes.

The first time through I nearly turned off the TV!  After several rewatches it's grown on me a bit, and putting Amy at the forefront for a change was cool.

I must be the only cat person on the board for whom this episode is still disappointing. I mean, I just feel like it was half-arsed by the writers, and that they could have done a better job (also, I still hate Shpeakenshpell. He's not only a joke that I just don't find funny, he's not even based on a Speak-n-spell. His entire name is a lie!

Still, it's not out-and-out terrible. It's watchable, and the fact that Futurama has acknowledged cats are naturally a superior species endears the show overall to me a little more.

The Darn Katz seems a good episode, but there's some themes that bother me like hypnotising cuteness. It's enjoyable to watch, but after all just an average episode.

The episode was solidly okay.
Nothing too exceptional (there were better sci fi twists than the hypnotising cuteness), but still good enough.

One negative aspect became visible only in Hindsight:
That episode started the Mary-Suefication road for Amy that tried to turn her into a backup Leela.

I don't know about that, Hein. I mean, I preferred Mobius Dick to this one.

I like this episode, I thought it was pretty fun. Amy and Nibbler worked well together too, and I'm not overly fond of Amy, so it was nice.

I just gave this one another re-watch last night, and I must say I'm liking it more and more on repeat viewings. At first, I just thought the whole episode was dumb and for the most part unfunny, and I didn't think Amy and Nibbler were strong enough to support the episode as lead characters.

I still think the plot is fairly lacking, but I'm starting to find it really charming. Maybe the cats are brainwashing me, but somehow I'm thinking it's funnier and more enjoyable overall each time I see it.
It's reminiscent of "That's Lobstertainment" in my opinion. Neither episodes lives up to the best of Futurama, but I think they're both cute and very fun to watch.

Yeah I think its better than the V-gina episode, Proposition infinity and the iphone one and probably worse than the other 4 out of the first 8 episodes, middle of the road episode for me.

I think I speak for everybody that we can all agree I like this episode!  That Dr Katz subplot is hilarious, because he's literally a cat puppeting a doctor.  That cat probably has so many degrees, lol

It's been so long since I saw that episode that I've forgotten the reasons I didn't care much for it on first watch. I still enjoy it on the rare occasions it pops up on late-night cable.
