the original iron chef isnt hosted by shatner, he just does the ripoff network tv version

That sounds pretty cool, Otis, the original series of Star Trek is on BBC2 Sundays at 12:00 so you can start watching it so you appreciate all the gags when you see the Futurama episode.

Nope, that's all Shatner my friend.  They play more than just decapitated heads.  If anyone wants more info you can email me and I'll tell you about the plot from what I heard via a fellow Futurama fan who  has another message board and got a animatic script of the episode.

I think that TOS is the most well known series, so that's why they chose it.  I'm glad they did too, I know nothing about the other series.

Hehe yeah. I wonder how Futurama will portray Fat-Boy-Shatner. An early 'Family Guy' had him attending an Oktoberfest with Peter Griffin and doing loads of wierd exaggerated moves all over the place. Very, very funny.

DS9 ruled, TNG was great, TOS was okay, V'ger should've been killed after two seasons. (and yes, nice avatar Erdrik)

I think DS9 was poor compared to the other series, but It was better than normal TV programming. There Happy? Thats about as middle ground As I'm a'gonna git!

Cool pic, it's nifty to see Captain Kirk on the show, since Matt Groening once referred to Zapp Brannigan as having a bit of Kirk in him. It's crummy that the season's over so soon, but it's been nice having lots of new episodes in a row.

Entertainment Weekly magazine features Futurama in its what to watch guide to the TV week for sunday.  The picture is the same as linked above, but here's the blurb:

For it's third season finale, Matt Groening's underappreciated, geek-friendly space 'toon truly sets its phasers on nerd.  When the original Star Trek actors (William Shatner, Leonard Nimory, George Takei, et al. supply voice-overs) are kidnapped by an evil energy cloud for an eternity long Trek convention, Fry, Leela, and Bender must save them amid in-jokes aplenty: The cast partakes in "Ambassador Sarek's Trivia Challenge" (named after Spock's dad), Nichelle Nichols reprises her derided Star Trek V fan dance, and Shatner tears his shirt to reveal his chest before starting a fight.  Why more Simpsons fans don't embrace this equally hilarious show is highly illogical. (grade, A-)
