Original Star Trek cast members spoof their series---and its devoted followers---in this inspired fourth-season finale.
After learning that the series was banned from Earth in the 23rd century (world leaders thought the Star Trek “movement” too threatening), Fry determines to retrieve episode tapes that were sent to a forbidden planet. “The world needs Star Trek to give people hope for the future,” Fry declares. “But,” replies Leela, “it's set 800 years in the past!” Still, they proceed to Omega 3, where Fry has a trivia showdown with a being claiming to be the ultimate Trekker. Guest voices: William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, George Takei, Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols.

Fox should at least have the decency to order a finale episode to tie up all the loose ends.

thats the Season Finale for this Season, The next seasons Finale will tie things up a bit.. not completly tho...

Fry makes a bargain with the devil to compose music that will show his love for Leela. From April 2002's Cinescape: "The last episode scripted for season 4, we were thinking that we wanted to hedge our bets just in case we're cancelled so we wanted to end on a touching note." Oy...is it just me and my Star Trek hatingness, or does this episode sound really lame? Everyone who says it's funny better be right.

I has potential, but I'd rather they'd went with a mix from all four series of ST. I don't have that much affection or knowledge of TOS to be really excited about this (if they'd went with DS9, that's a whole other story).

As said, it has potential, but I don't have nearly as high hopes for this one, as I had for "A Leela Of Her Own" (which more than met my expectations).

I have very high expectations for this episode because it's so much newer than anything else that has already been shown. Expect the animation to be mindblowing and the visuals (especially on the planet they go to while retrieving the lost tapes) to be awesome. It's times like this I wish I watched Star Trek, I'm sure I wont get half the jokes because I don't.

Dont, worry, itll probably come out on DVD before then (and VHS). If they release them at the rate they're going at the moment then it should be August/Winter 2003

I have heard some inside info about this episode from fellow Futurama fans online.  I won't mention names, they can come forward if they feel like announcing it themselves.    This should be a hilarious episode.  It's a great spoof on fandom and sci-fi fans.
