I think they'll air about 10 episodes and air the remaining episodes whenever, the following year. I hope that the next season doesn't start so late, if it doesn't then they might be able to air all of them.

Who or what is Pat Buchanan?  It'll be two tortuously long seasons of eight episodes each, with constant interruptions due to KOTH and Simpsons repeats, and FNL matches.

They will probably air ten and hack together a movie from the remaining six, which will flop at the box office because it makes no sense, thereby justifying dropping Futurama like a hot brick.   :(

...and my vote didn't fall out, it is hanging on by two corners so I want to change it.

I think they will show a dozen or so next season, which will leave about ten for the following one.

I thought there were only 16 left? I could definitely see Fox making 2 seasons out of it, showing all 16 next year would be a good thing, so obviously Fox won't do it.

Pat Buchanan

Just for the record, Pat Buchanan is not a racist; he's a severe ultraconservative ultranationalist neanderthal gadfly with several screws loose. In other words, the GOP's Ralph Nader; his malcontent railings acheived the impossible task of making the Republicans look worse than they actually were, until he was driven out. He wouldn't kill you for being black (his presidential running mate was a black woman)--he'd have you quietly executed for being a filthy unChristian heathen--or worse, an illegal immigrant. He once proposed walling up the USA's borders and machine-gunning Mexicans trying to cross.

Actually, knowing Fox, they'll probably air 12 episodes next season, then cancel the show due to "high production costs." (READ: It's too costly to get the animators and writers back to do new ones.)  The remaining four unaired episodes would be Fox's way of giving their fans the finger one last time on the way out.  (Though they might release them as DVD specials, but they don't seem to want to relase Region 1 DVDs as it might cut into possible syndication rights.  :mad:  :mad:  :mad: )

I voted Buchanan 'cause some day I want to live in Florida and be utterly incapable of making an intelligent choice.

Actually I'm guessing that FOX has realized that they've effectively ended Futurama production for good.  They'll run about 8 episodes next season - not too many as to give the impression that it is a series they want to promote, but enough to see return on their investment.  If the Futurama ratings look good next year (ya, right) then FOX will have a few more episodes to air the following year, while they figure out how to resurrect what they killed.  If the ratings are poor (as FOX expects) then they may not ever bother airing the last episodes or if we're "lucky" they'll air them whenever they desperately need to fill some airtime.

What a minute, surely all of the episodes will air sometime wont they? I was under the impression that they have all been made already; "Where No Fan Has Gone Before" is the 11th episode in the Season 4 production so they must have at least made them all up to there. Surely Fox has paid for the entire Season 4 production batch and would waste money if they didn't air all of them right?

I think they will Air all the episodes just casue if they dont they will be losing a lot of money becasue, yes otis they did pay for them and if they dont show them, they well get absoultly no return on the investment.  Since these low life scum suckers are all about money, its a safe bet that they will show all the episodes that they paid for.

    Consider this as a possibility:
      * Season 1: 9 episodes
      * Season 2: 20 episodes
      * Season 3: 15 episodes
      * Season 4: 12 episodes (looks like it)
      * Season 5: 8 episodes
      * Season 6: 4 episodes (and reruns)
      * Season 7: 2 episodes (and reruns)
      * Season 8: 1 episodes (and reruns)

      * and as the final insult FOX never airs "Idle Hands Are The Devils Playthings" (which is rumored to be acceptable as a seriesfinal).
    Sounds like a FOX-grade plan to me.

    I wouldn't put it beyond FOX to air the 8 or 9 new episodes next season, and then use the rest as filler for the next 3-4 years, whenever they need to fill some airtime. I am an optimist at heart though, and still hoping FOX'll come to their senses, and either a) order a new season or b) sell the show to another network.

    Either way, it's way to soon to end season 4. At least show us "The Route Of All Evil" (3ACV12) and "Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch" (4ACV01), that would make it more ligical.

Don't count on that.  When they cancelled The Tick, they didn't air "The Terror" (I think that was the ep's title) which was paid for, done, and ready to air.  I wouldn't put it past Fox to not air three or four eps and then promote those as "DVD specials."  (With the DVDs not released in the US for years just in case they decide to syndicate the show to another network.  :mad: )

It's all about money alright.  FOX execs are going to look at the ad revenue they can pull in by airing a Futurama ep vs. airing a worlds-blakiest-blanks ep and decide which is going to bring in more $$$.  I wouldn't put it past them to never air a few of the episodes, even if they have alrready purchased them.

Exactly!  What would Fry say if he was here?  I know what he'd say.
"You can't give up hope just because it's hopeless.  You've gotta hope even more and cover your ears and go 'bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla'!"  ;)
How do we know a new episode order from Fox isn't gonna fall outta the sky?  :D
