I always felt like TLPJF would be a good episode. Now I know for sure.

IDGDL's... um, dammit. Going to have to Spoilertag this. The stealth ship's design was pretty sweet too. And the Censor Ship looked kinda cool.

Yeah, we could do with somebody to replace VF and Krytyen, but the thing is that the people who visit GD would mainly make terrible terrible moderators. Yes, for the most part, the mainstay residents of GD aren't exactly the best candidates. However, there are some people, like Gorky and myself (off the top of my head), who are pretty fluid between the two universes of GD and Off-Topic. Can Matt Tobey stop calling us fucking Parrot Heads?
Once again, when did we become Jimmy Buffet fans?

I like the idea of making me and i_c mods--mainly the part that involves me becoming a mod.
Also: Has anyone considered the possibility that Matt Tobey is himself a parrot? Because he sure as hell writes as well as I'd imagine a parrot would.

You and Gorky, huh? Y'know I wouldn't be averse to that particular scenario. You're both intelligent and fair, and might not let the power (the powah!) go to your heads. Plus, you're around GD a fair amount. Hmm. Perhaps you should email mArc.

This has probably been brought up a lot, but do you think there will ever be a Simpsons/Futurama crossover episode? (I know they made a comic already)
That would be very strange. And I don't think there's a point to it either. Maybe in some Anthology of Interest scenario ("what if we found a universe where people are yellow" or whatever).

I would hate it if it were a Futurama episode and I would hate it if it was some sort of special. And I would hate it if it were canon. BUT if it took place in an episode of The Simpsons, I could probably deal with it because then I wouldn't have to deal with it. I think no matter how they did it, the new Simpsons quality would taint Futurama somehow, but if it was an episode of The Simpsons that did it, it'd hopefully improve the quality of The Simpsons a bit. It'd have to be some sort of Treehouse of Horror-y type episode though. And I'd still rather it didn't happen.

I doubt it. Devil's Hands was the last episode both produced and aired; any shelving of it was on the part of Fox, not the producers. They even state in the commentary that they wrote the episode to function as both a season and series finale, because they were unsure of their chances for renewal.
It is interesting (and kind of unfortunate) that the writers have gone into each finale they've written assuming that the episode would be their last. I mean, I think the two could-be series finales we've seen so far--Devil's Hands and "Into the Wild Green Yonder"--are excellent episodes. But it's still a bit of an unfair constraint on the writers when they're going into the project knowing they only have a 50-50 chance of renewal. Such is the nature of television, though, I suppose.

It was definately left more open at the end of ITWGY, as DXC says into the introduction, "This is the 4th and hopefully not last, DVD movie, into the wild green yonder," (is it DXC, I can't remember but I'm sure it is - though it could be John)
Either way, they obviously wrote it so that it would be good either way, left on a cliffhanger incase they didn't come back, but with a good clear opening if they got the chance to come back. It was fairly well done in that sense, but I agree with Gorky, there has to be a certain kind of pressure with writing a series finale when you don't know if you're coming back.

A clip from "Proposition Infinity" is up on Comedy Central's website. Link.
I guess I'll take further discussion of this to the speculation thread...
And here I am. I kind of wonder what the catalyst for all this unpleasantness between Kif and Amy is. Will the writers actually return to the mess that was "The Beast With a Billion Backs", and all the crap that was done to Kif and Amy's relationship? I kind of doubt it. But, at any rate, this one should be interesting.
