Hey there!

As a longtime Futurama/Simpsons fan, ive seen many a connection between the two, mainly Simpsons referring to Futurama.

But an old simpsons episode called "The Front"  has a line at the end of the episode where two characters that look alot like David X. Cohen and Sam Simon say this:

Sam Simon: "He's Right! We've been wasting our lives!"

David X. Cohen: "To Hell with cartoons!Im gonna do what ive always dreamed of! I'm gonna write that sitcom about the sassy robot"

This episode aired in April of 1993.  3 years before Matt Groening and David started working on Futurama.

Heres the episode, the line comes in at 18:56

Was this a foreshadow? Or just a cleaver coincidence?

IMO, I think its a foreshadow...

I think it is just a coincidence.  In addition, I wouldn't call Bender 'sassy'.
