I've been trying to get up at half eight all week to try and watch Futurama, and today I saw it, and i already have it on DVD, and most of it is cut out too!

At least next week it will be the second series, I'll make an effort to see or tape them, I can't be bothered to watch a cut version of something I already have uncut on video.

Welcome to PEEL brooza, I gave up on channel 4 and got Sky One. C4 are almost as bad as FOX, at least Sky One treat it with dignity. Btw, DT88 won't be too happy about your cool avatar.

this mornings ep was butchered. they censored any references to stoned, removed the scene of fender jacking on and censored out the word pornography. and it was on at 8:30 in the morning and i already have it on video. pah.

Welcome to PEEL Archie2K.

Instead of Leela saying "Bender, are you jacking on in there," they somehow magically changed it (not a cut) into something Im sure she's never said.

I've just finished watching the Futurama where Bender gets the 'empathy chip' installed so that Leela can share her emotions with him.

I can understand CH4 cutting references to 'Virgins' (actually I can't), but cutting the bit where Leela says she could do with a 'Toblerone'???

Weird.

I think C4 just cut bits at random, they truly suck donkey balls, the only good thing is when I buy the video I won't be purchasing something I already have   :hmpf:

Try www.geocities.com/futurama_cuts  for season 2 cuts.
BTW, is there a site with uncut Futurama scripts on, like a Futurama version of SNPP.com? Now that would be great. This board's the best site I've found for Futurama stuff so far.

Wednesday 18th September at 6:30pm is when Series 3 starts on Channel 4.

I hope this is true or someone's house is gonna get egged.

Yeah, but it's still funny to see how freakin' bad the censorship is.
They once cut out Fry's line "I asked a cop once. It [the parking sign] means 'Up yours, kid'", which is inoffensive compared to another line:
Hermes: "Up yours, Zoidberg! Up wherever your species traditionally crams things!"
... which was UNCUT! Man, is this a frustrating country to watch Futurama in.

Yeah...

"Harpoon my ass"
"My ass can be used as a flotation device"

One of these lines was cut and one wasn't.

Thanks for the welcome Mitsui  :p

It's funny, Channel 4 have stuck a whole bunch of stuff that could easily be viewed earlier in the day really late at night, but then you have Futurama which they do the exact opposite (well, Futurama doesn't need to be shown really late at night) and destroy the episodes in the process. Way to go!

/edit - *reads rest of thread* oh, 18 September is mine  - and Codefish's (?) - birthday. That's a nice twist. Even better present for me if they actually don't ruin the first episode beyond recognition.

Sorry, you can bet they will.
I don't see how they'll be able to show the even-more risque seasons 3 and 4 at the current time without cutting episodes down to 2 minutes! I mean, consider S4's premiere Roswell That Ends Well - Fry's just impregnated his own grandmother! That's not exactly 6pm family viewing, is it?
