That always drives me nuts when a charactor wakes up at the end of an epic sequence and it turns out it was all a dream. Thank God they won't do that here (at least I'm pretty damn sure they won't).

Actually, it is.  Most bad "it was all a dream", seems unexpected or completely inexplainable.

It is obvious from the beginning that Leela is dreaming it.  The twist was not unexpected and your regular "it was all a dream" twist.  And it made perfect sense.

Still, it doesn't change the fact that most things that "happened" in that episode didnt.

Dont get me wrong love the episode and was one of the best but it is still, at least slightly, part of the "dream" genre.

Oh, I was just going to say that it wasn't obvious to me when I first watched it at all...  I remember sitting there through the whole episode, being pretty much like "what the fuck is going on?", and then kind of going "ohhh..." at the end..  Guess that's me, but I had little idea, I didn't find it very predictable at all.


(I also wasn't all that particularly impressed with it the first couple of times I saw it either, most of the episode; except for the end; to me the ending redeemed it; but that's a whole different story).

Didn't that show called "Dallas" do an "It was all a dream" thing? I remember reading something online about how pissed all the fans were.

i rember watching a lot of episodes where she wasn't there. she also had a still born baby in real life while she was on the show, so i can understand the them saying it was only a dream

The season that was just a dream was the one where she was openly pregnant, and they brought in another "cute kid" named Seven.

They were going to follow up her real life pregnancy with a new baby on the show, but after her miscarriage felt that insensitive.

The season that she was barely ever there was the second half of another pregnancy.  In the early parts, when she started showing, they shot around it, by having her sit at the kitchen table and what not (to hide the baby bump).  They did not want to tempt fate again.  She successfully carried that child to term.

The dream season was a way to both delicately handle a rough situation and take a shot at Dallas all in one.
