Episode 6ACV23 is called "All the Presidents' Heads".
http://cocatalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?v1=1&ti=1,1&Search%5FArg=futurama&Search%5FCode=TALL&CNT=25&REC=0&RD=0&RC=0&PID=Tn6hHvmUre06JGlpNRs3lGF8uOTq&SEQ=20100828213025&SID=1

I'm pretty certain that this is the episode we know about where characters go time-travelling to the original eras of a bunch of presidents in the head museum...
which thinking about it, is also likely to be the episode where they find out that licking heads in jars causes a sort of drug trip.

You forget to mention that two other titles seems to have been confirmed as well:  "Nine-Tenths of a Zoidberg Is Underwater" and "Ghost in the Machines".

But like Mongo points out, they are almost confirmed.  They can change.  And so far, it has only happened twice.  Out of 100 episodes.

@Svip: The "3 more seasons" rumor can easily be verified at Dragon*Con since the Futurama cast will be there. I'm serving as moderator for the voice actor panels and can slip this question in on Billy.

Well, if all we are basing it on is a rumour by some guy on the internet, I think it is very little evidence.  It may feel like a really weird think to ask Billy West on stage or wherever.

I'd feel more comfortable if there was someone else who had heard this radio broadcast.  So far, no one have come forth with that.  So I am personally going with someone trying to stir things up.

Can't you also ask what Futurama websites they visit?

I can verify that Jackie Martling did talk about the renewal on the 8/26/10 of the Opie and Anthony Show. Here's a rough transcript.

Quote
Radio Caller: What ever happened to Billy West? He probably made your show the best.

Jackie Martling: Billy West is the king of the voice-over guys. He does many of the voices on Futurama, that was just renewed for three years and i was with that pr..k when he got the call. We're sitting there eating dinner in Los Angeles and he takes a phone call and goes 'Oh good' 'What was that?' 'We just got renewed for three years' and it was what's-his-name calling him personally, you know the creator.

You can download the radio show from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UNO0LH0W and the mention is at approximately 3hrs 10mins 40secs.

How let's hope he was telling the truth  ;)

That's very, very cool, as much as it's still far from confirmed. Thanks for that Whosoldherout!

So this could be the two broadcast seasons we're getting with season 6, plus one more.

Broadcast season 8 plus production season 7 which will be split into broadcast seasons 9 and 10.

Or three more broadcast seasons, presumably being split up from one production season.

Taking all bets!

Billy got in trouble with FOX, Groening and DXC years ago when he let slip the fact that 4 direct-to-DVD had been greenlighted.  Since then he's been pretty quiet about what's up next because he does have a gag order on him.  He can only comment on things after the PR Dept has released "approved information".

but don't let that stop you from asking Billy.  He may be able to give you some nuggets of info.

I was hoping to be at DragonCon this year but health and finances have gotten in the way.  Have a good time there for me.

As for Futurama, I don't know what has more lives, a very lucky cat or Star Trek.

Forcing him to admit truth from that is yet another step, though. If things are tense and they actually are upset at him for telling before (I never heard this before), I can only imagine him getting the question and turning scared to the rest of the panel.

Ah yes, back when the Moster Maniac Futurama DVD was released, there was a lot of speculation about renewal of the series or at least one DVD.  Billy announced (on his website) that DXC called him and told him about the DVD project.  It's unclear whether or not billy was told that was confidential info.  Billy came up with a retraction within hours, stating that he had jumped the gun about the DVD project and that he had been read the riot act by DXC about releasing the info.

Billy knows that it would be difficult to replace him and the fans would rebell if he was replaced.  That's probably the only thing that kept him safe in the Futurama nest.  He does have a gag order on him and he can't speak about Futurama unless it's been approved.

On problem Billy has is that Futurama is his favorite project and he loves the fans.  He would love to be able to give the fans more info but he doesn't need the grief that FOX and others can place on him.

I've dealt with him several times via e-mail.  He and I share very opposite political views (as I've placed on his message board).  In the e-mails, he has been nothing but kind and informative about things going on - far more tolerant of my right-wing politics than he is on the messageboard.  He use to keep fans updated via his messageboard but he has pretty well given up on it since his run-in with his "stalker" (PM or e-mail me if you want more info about that) and the sheer volume of work that he's involved.  As it is, he's very busy and has several projects going on at this time.  The last e-mail he sent to me state that he's working more than any of the other voice actors - he has to because he's not pulling down "The Simpsons" type of money and that he's actually working more than ever.  Once again, he loves most of the Futurama fans (except one that will remain nameless) and he appreciates the fact that the fans support has given him the chance to work at his favorite job again.

I can't say how he will react to other people who e-mail him but if you want to deal with him and leave information about future Futurama events out of the equation, he may respond to others as he's responded to me.  Also, do NOT mention Ren and Stimpy to him.  Long story short, he feels that he was cheated out of credit and money for the show.  You can't even place the words "Ren and Stimpy" on his messageboard - it will be changed to different words.

So, if Jackie Marling actually stated that over a live mic, then I would lean in the direction that it's true.  What does he have to gain making it up?  Also, since he's the one who leaked it out, I don't think they could give Billy too much grief.

I know I hope it's true.  The "ring rust" seems to be gone and the episodes are getting better as time goes by.  So far this season, I've enjoyed every episode, even the ones everybody hates.  I even enjoyed "susan Boil".  I don't want to even see her again (unless it a mutation that's mentions along with the elbow talons) but I don't see the reason why everybody hates the joke so badly.

Yeah, they shouldn't be harsh on Billy West for this one.  That would just be mean.

I mean, think about it.  Let's assume for a fact that it's all true, what Martling is saying and what West told him.  It's not that Billy West went over to him and said, 'hey, my favourite show has been renewed!', he got a phone call, during the dinner he had with Martling that told him the show got renewed.

And as big a fan Billy West is of Futurama, I would find it very out of character for him not to smile as he received the phone call, getting the news.  Which would instantly prompt Martling to ask what the call was about (I am sure many people can relate this type of situation), and - to avoid being a prude - Billy West told him so.

According to Martling himself, he was the one who asked, it was not West telling him without any initiative.  West may have forgotten to mention that the information might be slightly confidential.

You can't paint this one on West.  Maybe Martling instead.

However, for the life of me, I cannot figure out a reason for this information to be false.

"fanboy squee"

I can't see any reason for BW to lie about this. He's always been open and honest with the fans, rather too open for FOX's liking. The only reason I can think the information being inaccurate is:

a) This Martling guy made it up as a joke (I know nothing about him so I can't confirm or deny this).
a) He misheard it in some way.

Either way, I'm going with an 80% probability of it being true.

Two a's?  That's a strange list of scenarios.

But seriously, I considered both, and I have find the second more likely than the first, but still rather unlikely.

For the first one, if you listen to the actual interview, he mentions it quick and in passing.  There is no emphasis on this notion.  It almost sounds like it was just a cool story he had to tell, without him realising the impact the information might have on fans.  The joke seems to fall flat if that was its intend.  On all accounts.

The second one seems more plausible, if you ask me.  Could be confusion.  But since Jackie Martling seems to be familiar with the whole industry and apparently good friends with Billy West to have dinner with him, I doubt that he wouldn't be entirely certain of what he speaks.  It is plausible though.

Though, I am going with the 80-90% as well.  It could all have been a dream.

If the show is set to be renewed, I'm sure we'll hear about it officially in the very near future. My guess is some time between this Thursday, when "The Mutants Are Revolting" airs, and December, when the next new episode airs.

I'm reserving celebration until we get official confirmation.

I should have no problem asking during the panel if the cast has heard any details on whether the show will be renewed without singling Billy out to ask him about a specific rumor. I certainly won't put him on the spot asking about that rumor during the panel. However, when he's at his autograph table I could ask him personally, if you guys *really* want to know.

If I DON'T ask if the show's going to be renewed at the panel, an audience member will.

And I'll generalize the question about Futurama websites to something like "do you visit any Futurama fan forums or websites?"

I assumed this is why they appointed you moderator.  Because you are capable of generalising the questions appropriately.  I don't want you to single out Billy West publicly, so you might want to ask, simply, 'can you or can you not confirm whether Futurama will return after sixth production season?'.

I can do that, sir. Let's hope that with 4 cast members present and Dragon*Con being a major convention that perhaps they'll choose the con as the place to make that announcement official first.

And wow, do you work fast on that infosphere thing there. Your peeps already got three pages updated with that Frank Welker head-in-a-jar cameo! That was fast!

I can't believe I was the first fan to notice it here. I always get sidetracked in the Head Museum scenes - I end up looking more to see what heads make appearances than I do watching what's going on in the scene. I was floored to see Frank honored with a cameo.

I know someone's going to nitpick this besides me, but that preview video has a continuity issue. I don't know how to add spoiler tags here but watch the clip and I think you'll catch it immediately.

He is.  DiMaggio is filling in.  It's common to do temporary voices.  David X. Cohen often does them all by himself.  That's the best version of Futurama.
