That's a joke worthy of the "ooze-master itself", Spacecase.

Hey, I find that insulting! To SpaceCase.

Made a thread of this, it was locked, mod didn't move comment to here, so here goes:

So I spotted all of Futurama (except for the latest season) on Netflix streaming! Best of all, the movies stream in HD! As a DVD owner of the series, it's a nice treat to boot up the XBOX and watch the films in slightly crisper clarity. Also, as a lazy ass I can simply pick and click an episode rather than open up my DVD sets.

I assume the series is streaming thanks to Comedy Central having most of their shows on the serivce. Could this mean that an HD season 6 will hit Netflix streaming as soon as the season wraps? big grin

Anyway, this is a heads up if it hasn't been posted already. Check it out!

Lrrreconciable Ndndifferences

These aren't spoilers these are guesses. I'm not using spoiler tags.

Lrr and Ndnd are getting a divorce. They argue over which one gets Earth. Insert subplots here.

I agree, the Netflix news is awesome.  Another quantitative measure outside the Nielsons can't be a bad thing.

Also, Fishy Joe, I've noticed that your posts are polite, succinct, and insightful.

What the hell is wrong with you?  Didn't you know PEEL posters are supposed to be egocentric, denigrating to newbies, and able to write reams of text without saying anything new? Isn't that in the PEEL account contract somewhere?

Yikes. I had no idea that this is what people thought about me. :( I guess I am losing my edge. I'm not a young man anymore, after all.

I will try harder to be an egocentric, denigrating poster in the future.

You think having Matt Tobey call us "Parrot Heads" is bad, Wait until he singles YOU out as one:

I've been asking that same question ever since the CCI started. Everybody was like, "No, it doesn't matter, it's just a little joke," but now it's super cereal. Even Jimmy Buffett's commented on this.

http://ccinsider.comedycentral.com/2010/07/22/futurama-fanarama-futuramastar-trek-mashups/

And Matt Tobey calls us Parrotheads again! In one sentence, he calls us Parrotheads twice and Trekkies Parrotheads once. What the fuck is this guy high on?!

He provides links to the originals, but he doesn't actually outright credit the artists. I can see that one of those is coldangel's and I'd be willing to be he didn't give permission.

Also, interesting to note that he labeled "Where No Fan Has Gone Before" as Season 4 Episode 11. Comedy Central usually labels the episodes by their broadcast order.

Edit: Also found this from two days ago:
http://ccinsider.comedycentral.com/2010/07/20/futurama-fanarama-futuramastar-wars-mashups/

He uses Zed's art in that one.

here's a thought; stop following the guy's blog. He's probably just working you up to increase his readers.

Re: the fan art, I'm not sure they technically need permission to reuse art which reproduces copyrighted characters without permission in the first place. Bad form, I'd say, but unlikely there's anything to be done about it.

Actually, a link to his blog is posted by the Comedy-Central-run Futurama Facebook fan page whenever he does a new entry. I hadn't noticed he was posting these updates until it came up on my news feed.

That was what I had thought a little while ago. I don't think permission is needed, but at least he does link to the original art... Eh, it's tricky, I would just think he would send an email head's-up to the artists who were going to be included in his updates.

They post it to facebook, but every time he calls us parrotheads, you or someone comes and links it here. Links  by members of the fan community get more clicks than official advertising links.

Nope. The Facebook link had over 2k likes and over 200 comments. Over 3 million potentially saw the link on Facebook. We have just over 11k members, most of whom are not active, so I don't think PEEL has over 2.989 million lurkers to put it past an official advertising link.

Futurama's Facebook page has left this status "Get ready for an exclusive Futurama sizzle reel video featuring clips from the six upcoming episodes, premiering online this Monday."

They'd damn well better make it viewable outside of America.
