The preview was interesting, that's for sure.  And it didn't spoil too much, in my opinion.

But now I'm even more psyched for the new season!!  :)

And hooray for new Fry lines! Hearing the characters say new lines is always awesome!  :D

Beyond The Wild Green Yonder? Planetary Express? Steve Fritz (the article writer) is clearly not a fan of the show (even a super casual fan would know it's called Planet Express), and doesn't even care enough about his work to do any research. Hell, the entire article is basically copy-pasted from Cohen's Q&A. What a jerk!

So: he writes what is undeniably a positive piece and accurately quotes Cohen -- oh, sorry; Cohen -- at great length but, because he makes two unimportant errors, is a jerk and doesn't care about his job?  Hell, you're hard to please, Fistful!  (Sorry; Fistful.)

I think Fistful means that he would rather get info from a REAL fan.

No, he wants the news from a real JOURNALIST.  Someone who actually bothers to check up on trivial things, like those he missed.

Perhaps a journalist who happens to be a fan would have the info we're looking for.

That would probably help.

As for the essential recap of the Q & A, I'll admit it seems at first to be a bit sloppy because we've already seen the Q & A (or as much of it as was recorded and posted) and therefore aren't getting anything new from the article, but if that's all there is to report on, then I don't see any real issue with it since he's giving those who weren't there and didn't see the footage a summary. However, the errors are disappointing, and there are more than the two mentioned. He calls Morbo "Mordo," and I'm fairly sure DXC said that the Twitter episode involved the "Eye Phone," not the "Eye Tune" (even though I suppose that could be a part of the episode too). Assuming the author doesn't know much about the show, perhaps he could only take notes on the Q & A and did the best he could to keep everything correct; if that is the case then I feel somewhat understanding about the errors, but it still does seem a bit disrespectful to have these errors in the article (even if they are insignificant).

I disagree.  A journalist's job is to write an article to people and assume very little prior knowledge, yet, assume that there will also be people who have prior knowledge.  There is often a context; such as writing for a computer magazine, etc.

A journalist have to do research on what he/she is writing.  If not, the article will end up as an amateur piece, that any Joe could write.  If this is the journalism we have come to expect.  Then I can damn well understand why the Media industry is doing so badly lately.  People simply expect too little of journalists these days.

You people ought to be a lot more outraged than you are.

This isn't the journalism that I'd really expect, though. I am bothered by the article's errors and sloppiness. I just was trying to give the man the benefit of the doubt; when you put it that way, though, he simply didn't do his job well and that's that.

Alright, let me come back in and say that I am disappointed the article writer didn't even bother to check his work (would it have been that hard to Wiki (or Infosphere ;)) the show), but I probably am being a bit harsh about the rehashed material. Not everybody has time to watch the Q&A, so maybe a straight recap isn't a bad thing.

Still, as Svip said, it seems like something any guy could have written, rather than by a supposed journalist who is being payed to write such material (I expect some effort by someone who is being payed for doing such a job). It's very impersonal and sloppy, like he didn't care that much (I can't imagine a real fan would make such lame, generic jokes).

As for the jerk comment, that was done in jest about my own minor complaints being blown up in classic nerd-style.

From what I've read in that article, saw a lot of errors.  "planetery express"  and "Beyond" the Wild Green Yonder.  Obviously this dude doesn't know Futurama that well.  It also said that once the ships come out of that wormhole and only Fry and the Professor survive and everyone else will temporarly die and come back somehow hence the title 'Rebirth'.   Don't believe that for one minute.

Man, if I can only see the previews on YouTube.  Unfortunately, my computer can't download it.

Hopefully they'll think of some far-out si-fi way to bring them back. (I assume that's the "litteral rebirth" which has me only a little worried).

That still wouldn't really be a rebirth (as DXC described) so much as some permutation of cloning, which would make "killing" them pointless (as well as leaving the episode feeling long in the tooth). I think that whatever the writers came up with is far more imaginative and symbolic than whatever most of us could come up with (or at least I hope).

You're absolutely right, nobody came even close to what happened in the preview animatic, apart from someone who said the wormhole would take them straight to earth.

Don't know if this is worthy of a mention but...

(From Maurice LaMarche's Facebook) The Table Read of  Futurama Season 6 Episode 7 is today

No other details as of yet, but hopefully he'll say more afterwards.

Looks like they're making good progress...halfway through the episodes that will air next summer at least....

I was just stalking reading Moe's profile and apparently the episode is the "emmy shot" according to Moe it's....

"Hilarious, touching, meaningful, philosophical, even metaphysical. And did I mention, hilarious?"

Don't know if he's talking about episode 6 or 7 but I got high hopes for this one.

Ohh, that has to be the Time Travel episode! I can't think of any of the episodes leaked that fits that description more than the Time Travel episode. Hell it's even...

It is most likely the time travel episode...I don't think the Twitter episode will be described in this way....

Then again it could be the Nibbler-centric episode that DXC talked about in the Q&A

Well, I don't really have something that is news news regarding the coming season and such, but I do like mindless praising.  Or well, praising, especially when it is not mindless, such as the Guardian article:

And the article itself says "Those morons let Futurama die in 2003, and although it is now back"

BACK

There IS a new season coming out.

You know how Comedy Central always shows trailers to movies and video games during South Park?   Since Futurama is coming back on Comedy Central, should there be a sneak peak trailer of Season 6 during a commercial break?

Also, why not show a sneak peak trailer to Season 6 during a big sporting event?  Like the Super Bowl or the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics?
