Hmmm...I know it's been explored before, but maybe DXC was referring to Mom and Farnsworth? Those two old fogeys doin' it is pretty shocking. And, y'know, disturbing.
Amy/Leela would just be...way too self-indulgent. As a one episode throw-away, it'd be okay, I guess; but, from the perspective of continuity, Amy is newly re-committed to Kif, and Leela has just told Fry she loves him. I agree that it's a reset-without-actually-resetting.

We’re already working on one involving a shocking sexual relationship. We like to both shock and inform our viewers in equal measure.
"Shock and inform?" Hmm... Since it was to be informing, I was thinking along the lines of a homosexual/robosexual relationship, but no offense, it's too overdone. "The Simpsons" did gay marriage, "Family Guy" did gay marriage, and even "American Dad" covers the gay lifestyle every season or so with the Smiths' neighbors. It's not that I'm against gay marriage in any way (actually, I tend to use Lois Griffin's quote in the one gay marriage episode in "Family Guy" in support of it), it's just that you'd think that for a show as out-of-orbit as Futurama, you'd think they'd find something even more shocking. But I digress... it seems like nothing is as shocking as it used to be nowadays. An organism/robot relationship isn't that shocking either. It's too similar to an interracial marriage- it's already been widely accepted by the public. Besides, "Star Trek" seemed to cover that and Futurama already did an episode on that nature of a relationship. A relationship between beings of two different species is nothing in the Futurama universe compared to organism/robot relationships. Not only have we've seen Zoidberg dating the jellyfish woman, front and center we already have Amy and Kif. I'd like to see more television shows acknowledge polyamorous relationships more, but it seems to have a bad vibe with the American public (something about cults, they say). And again, Futurama covered that in the movie "The Beast with a Billion Backs", and that was hardly any kind of shocker (I don't think they did a very good job on it though, but then again multiple-person relationshps aren't that popular). Leaving all joking aside for my money it's Amy/Leela. AFAIK they've never had a gay/lesbian relationship on the show, well only as jokes in passing never central to the main characters. If the reaction to Erik Heifner's "L.A. Confidential" fan comic is anything to go it's likely to be be very controversial. A multiple partner relationship? Done it in BWaBB. Human/Robot - done it in IDaR. Gay/Lesbian - never been done. No Leela and Amy. We all know how well the shipping community took to Erik Heifner's "blimp" comic. Before the mock comic, I used to think that an Leela/Amy relationship would be okay as a one-episode deal. But after that comic (which I have to admit I do believe that Heifner handled the relationship pretty well, but not as good as it could've been, at least from the last time I read it), I couldn't take it as canon. I can't pin-point it, but it was just... ick. I actually thought that the lesbian moment between Leela and Amy couldn't have been handled better in "Bender's Game". First off, it was only a brief, one-time moment, it was extra-hot for all those nerds (not only was it between two females, they were in "magical creature" form), and it's not entirely canon because it took place in a fantasy world. If it was placed at any other moment in the series, it would've caused too much commotion. Besides, seems like Fry and Leela's and Amy and Kif's relationship will be stable in the new season.

Also, has anyone considered that the other person in the shocking sexual relationship will not be an established character? It could be a one-episode deal.
I was either thinking of Smitty/Url or Randy/his boyfriend.

Leela + Nibbler.
FWIW, I will light myself on fire if that comes to pass. Uh, there's artwork of that combo out there. Some of it pretty good from a technical standpoint. So to be "shocking" to some of us, he's really got his work cut out for him.

David Cohen was quoted in this article as saying something that gives me a bit of hope for the new episodes:
But after four epic feature-length films, "what we will try to do is go a little bit back to pure comedy, characters and sci-fi," Cohen said. That, to me, is as close to an admission of the movies' faults as we'll ever get. I think DXC recognizes that, though at least one movie (ItWGY, in my opinion) evoked a sense of the original series, the DVDs were largely disappointing. This return to, specifically, the characters, makes me feel like this new season could be on-par with seasons 1-4.
Well I really hope they're successful in doing that, because I didn't enjoy the movies anywhere near as much as I enjoyed the episodes. And I really did not like Bender's Big Game messing with the two saddest episodes of the show. (Luck of the Fryish and Jurassic Bark)

"Shocking" sexual relationship, coming from those guys, could mean that it has something to do with high-voltage.

As.....interesting as the Amy/Leela scenario would be I don't think it's likely. It would be completely out of nowhere and just doesn't seem to fit right. The fact that they did it in BG as essentially fanservice makes me even more skeptical.

That seems likely, Bender enjoys an electric shock, and so does Leela... I just had the best fan art idea! I CALLED IT FIRST.

The bozo couldn't even get the production codes right. For anyone who absolutely must know the titles of the new episodes as soon as they are registered, click here and take note of any new entries containing the string 6ACV.

Don't bother, the last registered thing was 'Into the Wild Green Yonder' (episode title, though), so no episode name yet. Problem with getting the information this way will be exactly which episode they are going to belong to, but hey, I think the names should arrive sooner or later.
