Great episode! The characters all "cared" about things, unlike the last episode (Pharaoh) where Bender's only motivation was for self promotion.
Definately funny - some good one liners:
"This is, by a wide margin, the least likely thing that has ever happened."
Overall 9/10 (4.5/5)

I really enjoyed this one. Irreverent, and/but fun. Way better than "Pharoah," but not as good as "Roswell" or even "Leela's Homeworld." Bender trying his dangdest to be a good god was fun. And who did the voice of God? It sounded really familiar.

Definitely an A+! I loved the whole thing. (Even if I did miss the opening gag... was trying to tape Justice League and watch Futurama... VCR refused to set for Comedy Central so I had to last-minute tape Futurama and watch Justice League. Might to that from now on since I'll be able to rewind on the good gags. ) Bender getting out earplugs, then ears. Helpo (was that the robot's name) as the annoyingly nice Bender-replacement. "Bender's odor is so mild, it's being drowned out by local sources" (everyone looks at Zoidberg) "Hooray! People are paying attention to me!" Commandment #1 God Needs Booze! The booze brand is Lordweizer. Bender crying over the plight of his subjects and causing a flood. Bender trying to give a village wealth, and flattening it with a coin: "That was a practice miracle." "Maybe if I hug god enough he'll save us from the..." *BOOM!*

I thought it was a great episode. The space pirate was pretty funny. I loved God. It was a nice return of the gypsy. The only problem was it wasn't loaded with laughs like Roswell. But it was still a funny episode.

SimmNixon: And what is up with the church Fry visits? It seems like it was a combination of every single world religion. Fry went to the church of amalgamation or something like that. Amalgamation means something like a bunch of things put together. That is why it looked as though they represented every religion - cause they did. Interesting seeing everybodies thoughts on this especially after last weeks episode. Although I enjoyed it and had plenty of stuff in it to think about it really didn't do much for me. I would put this a step above Where the Buggalo Roam which I thought was the poorest episode of the season. Judging by the trailer that I saw for this episode it looked like it may have been a parody of a classic episode of The Twilight Zone so I may have been going into this with a little bit skewed perspective. I certainly thought this episode had alot of stuff that people complained about A Pharoh to Remember but didn't have as strong as jokes as that episode. It all seemed like a setup to me, however this episode did tackle some grander ideals and themes than did A Pharoh to Remember. RM

I liked the simplicity of beatiful nebula backgrounds. This was more like the Bender I love than 'A Pharoah To Remember'. Bender being confronted with god-like powers & its terrible consequences. I really liked Leelas' humming in the beginning of the episode.

After three new episodes that ranged from explosive disasters to mere disappointments, "Godfellas" puts us back in The Zone, baby. Oh, thank you God. For me, every joke clicked, nothing was "too much" (or too little), there was a nice balance of character interaction, emotion, sci-fi parody, "deep" introspection (...in "Futurama"? Oh ye Gods!) and pure wackiness. Bloops were kept to a minimum. (I'd ask why Fry & Leela didn't just take the ship to the monastery, but why ask why? It was funnier this way. Never mind the origin of the who-needs-an-atmosphere Shrimpkins.) My highlights: 1) The Space Pirate Captain. ("They're pirates...but they're in SPACE!!!" 2) "Let us out! We cooked our shoes in the dryer and ate them! Now we're bored!" 3) The Moving Rickety Bridge. 4) "Come back and see me when I've had some sleep, baby!" 5) Helper. Oh God, I love to hate him. Come back soon! To die! 6) "There! Now when they find me, they'll know what the score was!" 7) God actually joins the cast. That took some brainballs. Huzzah!

the whole show reminds one of the game "Black & White". The scene where bender saves the kid and how god looks like come from that game at least its a 1st time that the show follows a game instead of other shows

See that's your mistake, don't ask for consistency from Futurama, only ask for laughs and you shan’t be disappointed.
Anyway, it was a damn good episode, but two Bender-heavy episodes in a row (A Pharaoh To Remember - Godfellas) kinda leave a bad aftertaste. Strangely enough, I'm in the mood for a Zoidberg episode. Come on, where's the redundancy on poor old Zoidberg?
Mighta been lame using it twice, but still my favorite quote from this episode was: "When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all". I dunno, maybe it's because if you think about it, that quote makes a lot of sense... or maybe it was just his big powerful voice *swoon*

Hey, yeah, this is a Bender-iffic episode I truly enjoyed. Wow, that doesn't happen often.
Anyway, how could I forget the beautiful visuals in this ep? I kept finding myself going, "Ooh, pretty . . ."

Love the episode. The villagers were the icing on the cake, making the beer, the mob, the nuclear stock pile, the mushroom cloud of Bender's butt was priceless. So has Thursday become a Futurama rerun night?
