I always thought that the idea of surviving on whatever planet they landed on was just a throwback to the TOS of Star Trek.

Also, I'm almost sure that if they DO get to do a series finale proper it would be that everything that Fry experienced in the future was all a dream that he had in the cryo-tube and that he was only asleep for that one night.  At least that's how I would write it.

Eh I doubt they'll ever have a series finale....  Besides the dream sequence has already been done (OVER AND OVER again...)

No offence but I would really hate it to end that way and I would discard the episode ever being made. Apart from it being totally unoriginal and a dull way to end, it would take away what made the show special. I hate it when cool stuff happens and we find it was only a dream. Futurama could have a much better ending, one which is as unique as the progarm itself.

If so, I think it is too Canadian for my taste.

Yeah the ending would have to be original and unique...  And I know the people making the show would NOT do the dream, unless it was twisted joke that it WASN'T really a dream and that Fry is really the Professor's daughter, but anyways..........

Fry, Leela, Bender, Farnsworth and Zoidy managed to survive a close encounter with a super nova. Now that's something.

Oh yeah, Fry and the entire PE crew survives the collision of red and blue energy rays that transported them back in time. The red rays were from the supernova. And the blue rays were caused by Fry's carelessness with the microwave.

Incidentally, my brother put a baked potato in foil inside the microwave to reheat it, and I didn't notice it until I hear buzzes and saw white flashes two seconds into cooking. I stopped it in time. And the potato didn't mutate.

In time keeps on slipping they were creating rips in the space-time continium, that's got to be hazardous?

That's a point of interest, certainly...however, it seems that time was in fact progressing normally--actions were being taken, lives were being lived, couples were getting married and messily divorced in scenes that must have killed some fans--but nobody anywhere remembered it; therefore, this "time slippage" amounted to little more than a phenomena I call UBF, or "Universal Brain Fart." Just another impossible occurance in the world of "Futurama."
