Yes, you are 100% correct!!  :D

And by the way, her name is Veronica Taylor.  Heh, I'm surprised that you forgot her name.   XD

She's actually one of the most famous voice actors out there.  And she has done voice acting for many different anime series.  But of course, most people know her as the original voice of Ash Ketchum.

Hello, fist time poster long time Lurker. Futurama Is Back Baby!

"After being treated like a red-headed stepchild and mismanaged by the bumbling Fox network, Futurama, the sometimes uneven sci-fi comedy developed by Matt Groening, may return to the station's line-up after all.
The announcement comes by way of Billy West, who voiced Ren and Stimpy, not to mention most of the notable male characters from Futurama, including Professor Farnsworth, Fry and Zapp Brannigan."

"Billy West reveals that the DVDs may have persuaded FOX to un~cancel the show for TV.

The voice of Fry, Zoidberg and Professor Fransworth, Billy West, revealed some exciting news for Futurama fans at the recent Anime Supercon.

At the event earlier this month in Florida, West told an audience: "They [Futurama DVDs] sold so well that Fox started making noises about maybe doing a sixth season for television."

Sigh...

notice their: "may", "maybe", "on its way?"

versus your: "Futurama is back", "on its way!" (from the title of the thread you posted)

In the end it may very well be, but please let's stick to what the sources actually say for now...

I'll merge this with the thread about the video from which the articles you link are taken.

The thing is, Billy West probably qualified what he said for a reason. Maybe it's because nothing is a done deal yet...

And since it hasn't been posted here, I'll add what he said on his forum a week after the SuperCon:
Quote
I heard they were "talking" about some new projects and if they do anything I'll be so psyched because this is hands down my favorite show.

Again, "if"

Nothings written in stone... apart from the 10 commandments of Futurama. The time travel one is already broken.

What are these other 9 Commandments? I think the community as a whole should hammer these out... with a chisel... on stone tablets.

Aww, poor Billy West....

It's a shame that people were very rude to him on the Futurama sites back when the news of the 4 movies was released.  :(

People do get pretty rude here. People are also constantly trying to follow the crowd. So if somebody posts a semi-persuasive set of comments that seem to be born of a geniune opinion and are at least partially sucking up to MG and DXC, the likelihood is that a bunch of morons will agree, and a bunch of sheep will start pounding their soapboxes in order to fit in.

Because the internet is 50% stupid people,  30% rude people, 10% mindless sheep, 5% trolls, and 5% misc.

Nothings written in stone... apart from the 10 commandments of Futurama. The time travel one is already broken.

One of the wonderful things about sci-fi as a genre is that it usually allows writers to break their own rules with increasing regularity. :D

I'm glad they broke the time travel one. I thought Bender's Big Score did the time travel thing better than Roswell That Ends Well or The Why Of Fry...

With BBS it was more of an ass-pull than before. They made it simpler and explained less. So of course it was easier to understand. But it was done best with Roswell that ends well. Because that was freakin' hilarious.

I must say I actually got lost in the time-travelling the first time I watched BBS. I was quite confused.

I know that older members remember the "non-cancellation cancellation", the rumors, the "Yes-It-Is" and "No-It's-Not" rumors but the newbies read something and it seems like a done deal.

I was one of the people who joined after the cancellation by FOX and the almost-nightly reruns by Adult Swim.  The way FOX scheduled Futurama it's no wonder that it wasn't "discovered" until its five year run with Adult Swim.

I also grasped for any little hint that it was coming back.

So after reading the links provided, I do hope it comes back to broadcast TV.  If treated correctly and given a decent, stable timeslot, new Futurama Episodes may be able to give Family Guy a run for the ratings.

So "if" a return happens, I sincerely hope you're the first person that DXC informs.  For your dedication in running and paying for CGEF and PEEL, the Futurama crew owe you a lot of thanks for keeping the hardcore and vocal fans energized during the cold, lonely days of nothing to look forward towards than another repeated episode at midnight.

I totally agree, Ralph.  Thanks for setting this up, Marc.  I joined here in 2007, when I "discovered" futurama; this is about the only resource like this that I could find that had hardcore futurama fans.  I hope that there is a resurrection, and will keep my fingers crossed that it happens.

* Frisco jumps in praise line behind Ralph and john.

Seriously though they're right. The show owes alot to [-mArc-]. I joined back in the dark days of 2005 when there weren't even an rumors of new Futurama yet. It was dead and that was that. Personally I couldn't believe it when I heard the rumors about possible new episodes before ITWGY was even out.

2005? Pheh!

Way back in 2004, when I joined and you all were just a twinkle in your dad's eye, we drooled over the slightest mention or cameo of Futurama in the media, let alone movies and new seasons!

Kids these days...

Personally I couldn't believe it when I heard the rumors about possible new episodes before ITWGY was even out.

To also show my dedication to Futurama, I've often praised Leandro At Futurama Madhouse for his dedication.  I don't know about [-mArc-]'s finances but I know a little about Leandro.  Just a few years ago he was in a horrible financial bind - bad enough that he had to sell his beloved Futurama Calendar collection dating back to 1999.  (I helped a little by driing the price of the coolection up on ebay.  If I had won, I'd have a nice calendar collection.  When I was outbid, Leandro got some desperately needed money.)

To be that dedicated to keeping FM running shows some major devotion and dedication.

NOTE:  I offered to bankroll Futurama Madhouse for a year on a new server when Leandro had his financial crisis.  I didn't want for either Kelly or me to be a moderator or even any sort of acknowledgement - all we wanted was for the site to survive.  Leandro finally had a donation drive to bankroll the site until he got his financal crisis resolved.  To this day Leandro knows that Kelly and I are in the background, ready to help financially if needed.

So when we think of Futurama making a comeback, [-mArc-] and Leandro should be getting some sort of financial reward from Groening and company or at least some sort of shout-out, like their names on a billboard that Leela crashes the PE ship into.  Without these two people running sites and paying out of their own pockets, the torch may have died and no new DVD's or possible series ressurection would have happened.

So, to quote Fry, I hope I'm doing a good job of kissing [-mArc-]'s and Leandro's asses from cheek to shining cheek.

Hey guys quick update. We are working with Florida Supercon to get a little futurama reunion in the next couple months.

We hope to be doing an interview with Billy West, Katey Sagal, John Di Maggio, and Phil LaMarr.  The moment we do I will make sure to post it or you can be the first to find out by following us on twitter.
