I was wondering what age Fry, Leela and Amy are.
It seems to me, that Leela is older than Fry was when he was frozen in 1999. Even with her sometimes strange (but admirable) behaviour she seems more mature than Fry.

I guess Amy is the youngest member of Planet Express, to me she acts like a typical teenager. What do you think?
Are there any hints in the series about their age?

Fry is 25 and I think Leela is also 25.
Leela acts older than Fry but I think Fry is actually older, cos Fry was born in 1974 and Leela was born in 2975.
Amy goes to Mars University so I would guess she is in her early twenties.

From the Futurama Y2K Calendar. It reads on January 19th:
Katey Sagal B 2975

Now to throw a spanner in the works.  According to several web-sites Leela is an Ariean.

So she couldn't have been born in January.

Also, Fry would be more like 1025.  After all, his DOB is in the 20th century (unless he is some kind of alien freak)

no it isnt, he wasnt doing any timewarps or anything. He just sat there for 1000 years. so his biological age is 102x, too.

No offence but you are a stupid Geman, do you know what "biological" means, does he look 1025 to you?
If you did medical tests on him it would show him as being 25, cos his body hasnt aged while being frozen.

The fumes from the pile of shit you live in must be rotting your brain. Fry was in that tube for a thousand years. He existed for all that time. Therefore, he is 1025. Actually, since at least a year has passed, he's 1026.

sorry, ... no.
one normally does a carbonite derivate test, and that will show fry as being about 1025 as its independend of the temperature in which the person lived. as its kinda pointless to discuss, you might want to do some arguing now  ;)

I got to agree with shitman on this one, if Frys biological age was 1025, he would have died of old age wouldn't he?
Your biological age depends on how healthy you are is not always the same as your actual age

Do characters actually get older, or do they stay the same like in the simpsons?

The Professor aged from 149 (159) to 150 (160) so my guess is yes.

Homer passed from 36 to 38 to 39, but other caracthers never were mentioned that they aged, even though they all had their birthdays one time or the other.

Right...there were a few birthday episodes of the Simpsons that didn't quite work out.
I know, Homer went from 36 to 39, but he's the only one who's aged.

Remember the episode where Bart falls down the well? WELL (*snort*aahahaahahaha!), it was his birthday in that episode. He didn't age a bit there.
And it's Homer's birthday in the X-files episode. But that was only briefly mentioned.

According to Matt Groening, this is a real-time cartoon.  So naturally the characters will age over the course of the series.

Does that mean that that Leela and Amy will start to lose thir looks and their tits and ass become saggy as the years go on?
That would be a shame.

People of the future live to 160 so the ageing process must be much slower, so Leela will probally still be hot long after you have gone blind from wanking too much.

I don't think the word "rabble" means what I think you think it means. "Rabble" means "common people". You're looking for "babble".

If Fry is 1025 years old, nothing in the Futurama world would be "real", because Fry would be attached to some neural wires in the Near-death star.

The ageing proces is not slower in the future, they have just found better ways to make people live longer. Covering wrinkles, repairing damaged bodycells and so on.
They have exstended the average human life to its maksimum.
Basicly its just about having the fragile human body to last longer on the same pair of batteries.
Amazingly we haven't seen Farnsworth have an operation where his body is being repaired.
(an idea for a new episode?)

You are forgetting that the current year in futurama is 3001, so Leela would be 26. Xmas is in late december, so after that episode it is safe to assume that the year is 3002.

My estimate is that Leela is currently 26 years old, and Fry is 1026 years old, with amy being about 21 or so.

Fry will be 1027 by the yaer 3002 cos he was born in 1974 so he will be 1028 later that year.

The time in Futurama seems to be going faster than the time hear cos when Futurama first aired it was March 1999 here and December 31st in Futurama, so it was 1000 years and 9 months ahead but now it is a full 1001 years ahead of us.
