Fear of a Bot Planet is a classic, am I the only one who finds Fry's "just two robots out robboting it up" line hilarious? It's just so typically awkward of him.

With regards my own "marathon viewing" I'll be watching the first Anthology of Interest sometime tomorrow having watching The Problem with Popplers today.

I'd have gone back to the start watched one a day with the rest of you guys but it'd feel as though I'd be extending the wait for ITWGY as I've being unwittingly using my progress through the episodes as a measure of how close I'm getting.

At least this way my healthy lead gives me the false yet comforting feeling that I'm somehow ahead of the rest of you and I'll be seeing the movie much sooner. Of course that's not true but hey, I'll take whatever comfort I can get.

Silence!

I also like Leela's "Robot we be" line.

Fry's reaction when he finds out he has 4.3 billion dollars is absolutly classic.

Igner gets dumber with time I notice. There's no way they'd give him the "Thanks a billion" line these days.

Fry's reaction when he finds out he has 4.3 billion dollars is absolutly classic.

Along with his "one jillion dollars!" bid.

Also very fond of Bender's "maybe you just don't know how rich he is" line before putting on a monocle. A robot, wearing a monocle...how can that not be amusing?

Can't believe I forgot this one.

Announcer: "Do you remember a time when chocolate chip cookies came fresh from the oven? Petridge Farm remembers. Do you remember a time when women couldn't vote and certain folk weren't allowed on golf courses? Petridge Farm remembers."

So is Fry's response.

"I could if you hadn't turned on the lights and shut off the stereo".

Just realised that actually quoting it is slightly funnier.

Today is My Three Suns and is also another one of my favorite episodes of season one. It may have to do with the cold opening...

One of the best moments from the entire show's in this one.

Fry: "It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came and the grasshopper died and the octopus ate all his acorns and also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?"

The fact that he's so commited to the story makes it even funnier.

Brilliant episode; one of the first ones I saw.
I'm pretty sure I said that last year..

I like the art direction in this one, and the Trisolians are probably one of the best alien species.

Conception and execution, both excellent.

One of my favorite Professor moments is the death clock.

It's hard to believe that ITWGY is coming out in Februrary!  Thought for sure it wasn't coming out until the summer!

It was originally meant to come out in April wasn't it? Or at least that's when it was rumoured for.

Very pleased that the release date got brought forward a couple of months...waiting until April would have been torture.

Would have been interesting though because that would be exactly 10 years.

hmm, the characters physical appearances changed more than I realized over the course of the show.  They all lost a lot of weight, and Leela looks younger than she did in the pilot.

She did take a swim in The Fountain of Aging.

The first eps do have Leela looking older because originally she was suppose to be 30 years old (next to Fry's 25 years old).  The powers-that-be decided to make her and Fry's ages closer.   I liked the diea of her being a little older to go along with her maturity.

One thing - we don't really know exactly how old Leela is - she has never been given a birthyear.

True.  And since people seem to age slower in the future, there's really no way to know how old she is based on her appearance.

I'm gonna go by the production order of the episodes

Today is A Flight to Remember

Another episode I loved. It had all the makings of a good episode, the use of all the secondary characters, Bender, ZAPP AND KIFF!!!, some emotion.

Question. Is this the first episode where Fry expresses actual feelings towards Leela?

There was no emotion in that kiss, though. The "nearly kiss" is far more telling.

A Flight to Remember is perhaps the best episode in Season One, it had a bit of everything and is one of the few times in the entire show's run that they managed to give the majority of the crew a decent storyline of sorts each.

One of my favourites.

As for my "marathon" I've just finished Season Two by watching the Cryonic Woman. Definitely the weakest of all the season closers but it's a decent watch. It drops in quality somewhat after Michelle wakes up but before that it's gold.

Season Three begins tomorrow...only two more seasons + three movies left for me!
