Welcome to PEEL Bakntime.
It wasn't bad. Zoidberg was pretty good throughout the whole thing... trying to be like amy's parents. Good Stuff.

I thought it was good, better than Leela's Homeworld. It had good pacing and it's always good to see the crew in a new place (i.e. Roswell That Ends Well, Mars University, etc.)

Rating:  **** out of *****

zoidberg was hillarious.

"I broke your television!"

Thought kiff could have been funnier, though.  B+ rank in funny episodes category; funnier than a tale of two santas, off hand I would say roswell was funnier (and better in general).

you know for a while they thought about writing 'Roswell that ends well' as a movie. Too bad they didn't it would have been hysterical.

It was a good episode if you take into account how much I dislike any large quantity of Kif-dialogue.

I always watch things a 2nd or third time before I rate them, but I think this was a good one.  It could have used a little more Zapp, but Kif is a cool character and I liked how meek he was.  It seems that it's a bit too hard to write for him though.

The funniest bits were with Zoidberg clinging to Amy's parents.

I'll have to postpone my review for the third time this season as I have been at work.

Eh, it was a good episode. Zoidberg should have stopped trying to use that joke after the second time. It got a bit annoying with him using it the entire ep.

Pretty good episode.  I liked the interesting plot twist of how Amy's ancestors were actually the stupid ones.

I think that proves that Kif shouldn't be a major character. He got annoying after a while. I liked when they called in Zapp though, that was funny. And Hermes and Zoidberg were both good. Lastly, the whole barbeque scene, especially the laughing at the stupid natives was great.

I loved Zapp's quote when he first was called in:  "I am the man with no name:  Zapp Branagin!"  For some reason that quote stuck with me.   :laff:

And I can't forget about the professor's dual "This sounds like a dangerous mission.  Someone's bound to be killed.  Fry, Leela, Bender: you should go along."   ("Curse you old man!" )  :laff:   :laff:   :laff:

Yes Kif does get annoying. Which was okay when he was supposed to be annoying, like in Brannigan Began Again, but not in this ep.

Amy's parents:

"Make yourselves at home."

Zoidberg:

"Don't mind if I already did!"

It's funny that when the show first started Zoidberg and Hermes were my least favorite characters, but they're probably my favorites now.  They're so damn funny.   :laff:

You mean because it had lots of Amy in it.    :laff:   In some eps she's really tossed by the wayside, but she can be okay when they flesh out her character. Lucky Kif...

Good episode. The Zoidberg bit was slightly overdone, but it was still funny. Kif was ok, but he's better when that jackass Zapp is with him. I like how Zapp's "wife" comment got a rolling tumbleweed, even though nobody laughed at his first joke either.

I watched this with a non-fan and unfortunately he didn't seem to get it(although he agreed that Zapp was funny). Oh well, I thought it was good.

Hi people,

A very smart episode! Since I'm in the UK you can imagine the lengths I had to go to in order to see it -- I'm aware that discussion of what I obviously had to do to get it is prohibited, so let's just say that *IT* took 15 hours and ran all through the night!

I don't think anything can beat Leela's Homeworld but then they are two completely different types of episode.

I laughed my arse off.

I like Kif (wish I'd stuck with my original username "Squishy" now; I too am supported by a fluid-filled bladder)--but I also hate his living guts 'coz he's gettin' what I want; Amy Wong. I'm not kidding; I'd give up a whole dimension to be with her.

Thank God an earlier poster pointed out an explanation for the Wong's reversal on Kif--that when they introduced him to Amy, he was (temporarily) a Captain--because that buggaloed me all episode. Pity they didn't drop a single line of dialogue IN the episode to clarify...

Trivia: a picture of Betsy is in Amy's Earth apartment (this year's calendar, February).

While discussing "Put Your Head On My Shoulder," a poster suggested that Zoidberg uses the PE's "Condensed Milt" (look it up) to "fertilize that caviar for you" in this episode, because mating would kill him. I don't know if, eh, "jiggling the joystick" would be fatal, though; I think Zoidy pleasured himself for the Wong's "benefit." (Comin' through the roe? Ew, new problem: it might be WORSE than fatal for Zoidberg to masturbate. Snip! Unless he uses his...oh God, I'm stopping this line of thought right NOW. Ron Jeremy indeed!)

The episode itself: not the best--maybe trying to do too much at once, so that no one character gets enough time (Fry got totally screwed!), and the action is not really well-staged...and I preferred Amy and Kif's adventures in "Amazon Women In The Mood," where SHE rescues HIM--but still good and funny, and Zoidberg was golden. Amy, as always, was a firecracker; hotter than ever.

Downer: The photo of the kidnapped Amy (blindfolded and holding a newspaper) was totally creepatronic, given recent tragic events in Pakistan. Not the show's fault, but yikes...

It was OK, I give it 3 out of 5. And also, my VCR like shut down in the middle of the commercial break so I don't have the 3rd act on tape. Could someone give me some good jokes from there for my guide page?

Thank god for a great episode!  It completely washed away the bad taste that "Leela's Homeworld" gave :-)

Too bad Zapp wasn't in it a bit more, but Leela was hilarious when she said "Yah, of course its funny, but you shouldn't laugh"

As Bender would say: HAHAHAHAHAHAHH
(oh, you were being serious.  Allow me to laugh harder. HAHAHAHAHAHAH!)

Well, judging by Buggalo, Kif and Amy still haven't done much.  (Kind of out of character for Amy, isn't it?)  In one scene, Amy's on top of Kif when the ground rumbles.  Kif seems to think that it was them making love.  Then, at the end, Amy kisses Kif and the rumbling of the Buggalo makes Kif think that they made love again.  Of course, since

Ok, this first one isn't an exact quote.  Maybe someone can help with the exact wording.

Chief of the Martians:  "Hi.  I'm [blanking on the martian chief's name], chief of the Martians."
Zapp:  "Take me to your leader."

(and later in the negotiations)

Zapp: "How do we know she's ok."
Amy (right there):  "I'm fine."
Zapp:  "Quiet.  You'll ruin our bargaining position."

Gotta love Zapp the expert negotiator.

After Kif rescues Amy:

Zapp:  "Kif, that was a heroic act of almost Branaganesque proportions."

And completely out of sequence, from when the sand storm comes around for the second time (just before the Amy-kidnapping).

Fry:  "It's that barbeque's over sound again."

Sorry folks, I thought it was a really sub-standard episode. Even Zapp wasn't funny and I don't remember laughing once. Nope, didn't enjoy that one at all.

I liked it overall, especially the DR. Z parts but I noticed J. Stewart Barnes likes to do the "repaet the same joke a lot to make it funny" which he did way too many time. Example: The professor choosing Fry, Leela and Bender; Dr.Z acting like he is a Wong; Kif thinking sex is kissing etc. etc.

One of the best episodes ever! Zapp as negotiater and Zoidberg as "the wong son" was funny as hell. But especially outstanding was the scene (and I wonder that no one mentioned it before) with Fry, Bender, Leela and Kif around the fireplace telling each other ghost stories.
"It was a ... Windows   :puke:  logo!" I have to admit, this logo seems also very scary to me...
