the very first review is out!  (Be forewarned, its very heavy on the spoilers.

It also mentions a key plot point from Into The Wild Green Yonder, which the reviewer got from the trailer that is included with Bender's Game.  This is a big spoiler.  In fact, just don't even read it.  I'm warning you!

The plot really sounds much crazier than the first two but I think that in Futurama, that is never bad thing. As for the spoiler.... Well, how much serious you think it actually will be?

Nice review, looking at the grabs it seems Cubert and Dwight have found some new kids to play with. The movie sounds awesome but I thought dark matter was fuel already and didn't need anything doing to it to make it fuel. I thought Nibbler just pooped it out and it went straight into the ship and it has power...

Also that review confirms again that the UK gets it a day earlier!...

Note it may be that the professor's dark matter engine can run on raw unprocessed dark matter, however it has also been seen being fueled up with liquid dark matter fuel, and in the bird bot of Ice-Catraz their mission was to haul a space supertanker filled with "rich Colombian dark matter" (and 6000 hulls) close to Pluto to avoid the toll booth. Of course with a sober bending unit piloting the ship (much like a drunken human would) chaos ensues and it started an explosion in the penguin population.
It is possible that not every dark matter powered vessel can run on the unprocessed dark matter spheres.

Looks like this review's more positive than Screenjabber's Beast and Bender's Big Score reviews. Makes me more enthusiastic for the movie.

Edit: Crap. I read the ITWGY spoiler.

The review makes me so excited, but the spoiler for ITWGY sounds exciting but...scary, as Ive said on one of the other boards, if something totally dramatic in the last movie happens and is meant to stick....new episodes are looking dim.

Oh, by the way, thank god the super collider didnt super-explode ;)

I'm still pissed off that it doesnt come out until dec 10 in australia, a month after the others, im so annoyed, if ITWGY doesnt come out earlier here then im gonna be even more dissappointed!

Btw, who actually decides the release dates, i need to "write" them a "letter".

SWEET! I can buy it a day before American's buy it(!)

I'm watching it online first, but I'll buy it when it comes out. It's just so I can buy the DVD and go straight to the commentary.

I promise, I'm not watching ITWGY online.

And how did the reviewer find out information that wasn't seen in the trailer like Bender having no imagination and going to the Hal Institute for Criminally Insane Robots?

Oh, and before I forget, I understand it's a spoiler, but just make it spoiler thing here:

got the online screening from fox I suppose. I think I'll write a script to refresh torrent searches every hour till it goes up... Im getting tired of hitting F5.

I think I might want to wait until actual release for ITWGY, do the whole avoiding spoilers and such.

I wouldn't worry about the spoiler for the final movie, it just makes me think of The Sting but all was good there in the end wasn't it?...

I think I might want to wait until actual release for ITWGY, do the whole avoiding spoilers and such.

The temptation's always too great for me and I saw the spoilers for BBS and BWABB before seeing both films...though surprisingly it didn't ruin it for me one bit.  The spoiler I'd read (by accident for once) for BBS gave away that Lars was actually Fry but despite knowing this before seeing the film I still very much enjoyed it...if anything it gave the film a bit more humour as I found Fry's hatred for someone who was essentially just an older version of himself hilarious.

So knowing me I'll end up stumbling across spoilers for both Bender's Game and ITWGY but in truth I don't think it'll spoil the film for me, it never has done in the past.

That would make sense, as in the game Sal says that you would need a dark matter engine and that those are rare. Therefore I would presume that only dark matter engines can run on raw dark matter.

Also in the game Leela scores two wheel barrows full of dark matter spheres (full tank worth dark matter) for her efforts to rid the star of the evil sun god, they just take them up the ramp/stairs and dump it into the engine and go.

Oh and Sal says that you need to find Hubert Farnsworth the guys who invented its... and then Mom says something to the effect of "That old goat from planet express, he just got away, that mother loving no good piece of..."

Bender's Game previews look interesting.  Wonder why Leela has a collar on?  I hope they don't bump off Fry.  As it's been said before, maybe there's another Fry from BBS lurking around.   If this is going to be Futurama's last movie, it should go down in a blaze of glory instead of killing off Fry.

Or maybe  Fry will die temporarly.

Well if it ends on a "real sweet note" I don't think it'll involve Fry being six feet under...unless they meant bittersweet but I've always had the impression that they want to end Futurama on a happy note, it's a light hearted sci-fi animated comedy above all.

Mind you...going back to the 'another Fry left over from the BBS fallout' idea whilst it's vaguely plausible where would he have come from? I don't think there were anymore duplicates of Fry left after Lars got killed...unless I'm missing something.

We will see however, shame we've got to wait till April, whilst Bender's Game looks interesting ITWGY is the one I'm most looking forward to...and official teasers allegedly involving Fry getting killed isn't exactly doing a good job of cooling my anticipation.

I have the utmost faith that the Futurama writers are above some lame-ass Star Trek style "BUT HES ALIVE CUZ OF THAT TIME HE TIME TRAVELED LOL!" story.

It will be interesting to see what they mean by "real sweet note" too. It's one of the main reasons ITWGY is the movie I'm most looking forward too. But man, waiting until April?! I guess Benders Game will hold for a month or so, I bet the attached trailer won't do a damn thing to help the wait though. Probably just make it worse.

I agree with that alright! I remember thinking "well...at least the trailer for ITWGY that comes with Bender's Game will satisfy my interest for at least a month or so making the wait more tolerable".

By the sounds of it I'm going to be completely wrong.

Yes, of course Fry will be alive again by the end of ITWGY.  The writers know that there is still a chance that the show could continue past these four movies, so they cant very well kill off the main character.  Not to mention the fans would be royally pissed off.  I personally think that the 'sweet note' at the end of the movie is going to feature Fry and Leela holding hands, kissing, and walking off into the sunset, just like their holophoner images did at the end of The Devils Hands.  That won't be terribly sweet if Fry is a rotting corpse :)

Didn't the trailer for Benders game come out on youtube well before the BWABB DVD? Shouldn't the ITWGY Trailer be coming up in october?

I think they did yes, I for one remember seeing the Bender's Game trailer before my BWABB DVD arrived...but come to think of if I live in the UK and it was released over here about a week or so after it was released in America.

Despite this cloudy memory however I do expect to see the ITWGY trailer surface sometime in October and in the process making me even more impatient.

Sorry, no review tonight yet. Have to watch it once more before I can type something longer up.

Short summary: I like it more than BwaBB. The build-up takes a bit too long for me (you don't really know what it's about after 20 minutes still), but it's not unfunny during that time. Next three segments are all fun to watch, too.

Screenshot (don't think it spoils much/anything, but I'll put it into spoiler tags...)

20 mins build-up, this is the problem with movies designed to be split into 20ish minute chunks for TV I suppose...

It's quite an eye opener when you watch the DVD's in Windows Media Player (or some other player in which you can always see the timescale)...I remember watching BWABB and 15 minutes had passed before anything had really happened. If it had been a normal episode it'd be over half way through.
