You don't have to use spoilers anymore #9. Just so you know.

I thought it was a bit predictable. However, it's funny and that's what matters.

It was funny and that's a definite advantage it has over BBS !

I loved that little black and white piece at the beginning that introduces the movie. I also liked the fact that Fry's character appeared to have blossomed in this one.

Overall I rate it most highly or almost awesome!

Well I just saw BWBB (yeah, only now, in my defense I only started watching futurama half a year ago and it's hard to buy the dvd's when you live in egypt -_- ) while I was watching it I couldn't help but wonder what they were smoking when they wrote that, sure it made me laugh but i couldn't really find much logic to it, plus I figured that since Leela sort of fell in love with Fry in the last movie he wouldn't get a girlfriend so fast.

I guess it's overall the fact that tentacles freak me out that made me feel like the movie wasn't really that good. It's basically funny but simple.

I figured that since Leela sort of fell in love with Fry in the last movie he wouldn't get a girlfriend so fast.

I think the writers themselves had admitted that this was somewhat of a "cheat" but they needed it for the story apparently.

Plus when you think about it it wasn't THAT out of character, the world was ending...or at least they thought it was...they came together in fear more than anything.

I did think it was slightly out of character that he cared that much when they broke up...though I guess after all the rejection he suffered with Leela he was probably lonely more than anything.

I liked BWABB but I did think the plot was rather weak and uninteresting overall, I certainly preferred BBS but BWABB had much more humour.

I guess it makes sense when u think about it, they devoted more time to the plot with BBS then noticed people didn't like the whole scientific/time travel idea and spent more time on the jokes for BWBB, hopefully they'll put a bit of both in the third installment ^^

"The Beast with a Billion Backs" had an unstable plot but great humor. "Bender's Big Score" had both a weak plot and very little humor.

I'm actually quite partial to the plot of BBS. It wasn't mindblowing by any means but it was interesting and had some genuinely touching moments...either that or I'm getting soft.

BWABB had a lot more humour but the plot was somewhat yawnsome and when it comes to feature length films I tend to rate plot over humour in terms of importance.

I did enjoy both but BBS was my favourite out of the two.

I found BWABB quite boring, actually. And I don't reckon it's more humorous than BBS; I think that the plot revolving about the League of Robots was quite weak, and Fry was almost out of character. Hated Yivo and Coleen.

The opening sequence and the 3D work were pure gold, though.

Fry was almost out of character. Hated Yivo and Coleen.
QFT - Fry falling for Coleen after a whole movie of him battling for Leela? Well... may-be it was infatuation, as posters above suggested. Fry blasting himself out of the universe when they broke up? Pfft. Then apparently viewing Leela as the third place, emergengy reserve relationship at the end? Not a lot of relationshippal continuity from BBS and the show itself.

It was a soap opera movie, too tight a focus on the characters' lovelifes. Amy and Kif (and Zapp) wasn't bad, but going over the same ground with Fry and Coleen, Fry and Yivo, and Fry and Leela was dull. They'd done "Fry/Lars in various relationships" last time.

Despised Yivo, neutral to Coleen. No personality in either of them, but Yivo was expected to carry a lot of plot with him, and have main characters constantly interacting with him.

Loved the Death Ball matches though :D

The deathball matches were awesome and I agree, the Coleen and Yivo story was completely out of place.

I can buy the whole "well, the universe is ending...might as well get some action" argument when it comes to why Fry suddenly goes for someone new...but how depressed he came after they broke up was a bit hard to believe. Having said that Fry behaving slightly out of character was needed for the plot according to the writers...shame the plot itself wasn't that good but I'm prepared to forgive them as the humour was spot on for most of the film.

Though apparently ITWGY will pick up the pieces from BBS in terms of relationships and what not.

Hope it does, kinda disappointed with this movie...I was sort of prepared for something epic, I mean sure it's kinda funny that it was just a love-lorn planet in there but I wasn't expect there to be a living million-genital planet that learned english by...hearing people through space...I just noticed it makes no sense no matter how I think of it...guess it's kind of refreshing though, there was a bit too much theory in BBS but to me it was part of the fun of watching the movie ^^, well i guess imma wait for ITWGY for the kind of story I can only dream of ^^

Yes, this was the main problem for me. I've always loved Futurama for its great continuity, and Fry's behavior in this movie was a kind of punch in the face. At least, this is what I felt watching BWABB.

And yes, the Deathball was priceless.

PS: I apologize for my crappy English, but (unluckily) I am Italian.

I suppose there was a similar occasion in the actual series when Fry went off with someone else straight after a Fry/Leela heavy episode. I think I'm right in saying that 'I Dated a Robot' was directly after 'Time Keeps on Slippin''.

Granted it's not exactly the same given the differing tones of the outcomes of BBS and TKOS but it's the only similarity I remember from the series.

I had never noticed that, because here in Italy the episodes aired in a real mess (like, The Series Has Landed after A Flight To Remember). And the DVD sets are messed up, too.

Poor Futurama. Just few people can understand it  :nono:
