I didn't disappear, you just didn't wait 24 hours from the last entry. Oh wait, maybe you did. I can't get used to the new timie thing since the upgrade. Also, not sure if the "No Page 20 Rule" still applies since the upgrade so you might have to start a new thread.

Leela:Come on Fry we have a package to deliver, you know the professor gets cranky when we"re late, especially when he is already in his PJs

Fry: Wait a minute, first I have to get this retarded brain slug off my nuts

Amy:Let me help you Fy, I'll get the Luminosity Rapid Oxidation Scorching Devouring Combustion Sea of Flames Inferno Gun

Fry:Be gentle...

Since futz disappeared (and mine was the best anyway) I'm commandeering the thread.

Lol - The picture had only been up for three days! Or is there a new 24-hour rule for when no new entries have been received in the last 24 hours now?

Fry: My God! Even after 1000 years they're still confusing 'modern liberalism' with 'neoliberalism'? Right, that's it! The confusion ends here and now!

That's always been the rule hobbit.

Wha... wait, so... let me get this straight:

There's one (24-hour) rule for 'usurping' the right to post a picture if the previously announced winner hasn't already done so in the last 24 hours.

And there's another (24-hour) rule for 'usurping' the right to decide the winner if no new captions have been posted in the last 24 hours? (In addition, the usurper can have an entry in the current competition AND they can award the win to themselves.)

So, that's two 24-hour rules. Are there any more that we should know about?

I wasn't sure if it was a good idea, but I made the new thread and my idea is on there.
Sorry.

Hobbitboy: Yes, you are technically correct, 2 rules. They were intended to keep the thread from stalling and rolling off the 1st page. Although use of the rule is a little lax on a grab with very entries (weekends are sometime pretty dead on PEEL) it's still the rule.

The No Page 20 Rule is/was a PEEL rule having to do with the pre-upgrade software not being able to handle threads over 19 pages. It applied to all threads. Since the upgrade I haven't heard if that is still so but usually the thread wouldn't get this far "in the old days".

Oh, crap. I'm still getting used to the new system. Sorry. Anyway:

Fry: "Those damn Pirates are driving me MAD!"

Pirate (Off screen): "Arrr, We only be tryin' to watch Bender's Game!"

I remember [-marc-] saying he has a preference for shorter threads and so far closing down 20+ page ones and starting new ones has been enforced (with the notable exception of the election thread). There was supposed to be some sort of auto-shutdown in place but that was all mentioned during the beta.

I personally like the 20 page end cause it means we have to think of new names - new names are fun to think of.

You will find the new pic on the new thread.

No need for this thread anymore. Shut it down, shut it down now!
