Just to make sure, noone sees anything they don't wanna:

About the pre-empting. Could this be petty revenge from FOX for the Save Futurama-campaign and all.  :laff: Think about it. You pre-empt a sparkling new episode of a quality show like Futurama for a double feature of King Of The Hill!  One of the unfunniest comedys ever. Then they'll probably pre-empt the rerun of "Put Your Head On My Shoulder" in favor of "The World Blankiest Blanks".

Horrible Horrible. But I don't really think so, the question is if they know about it at all...   :D

It's sad how this episode has kind of been pre-empted twice, it should have already aired last year and now when it's finally due it gets pre-empted again! Just when I thought that FOX had made a sensible decision, the one brain cell which they share between them dies off and this happens.

How can FOX replace a quality show like Futurama, which is already about a year behind schedule, with donkey-ball sucking rubbish like "King of the Hill"

The ultimate question to ask FOX is why is KOTH pre-empting Futurama when it got lower viewing figures than Futurama last sunday?

I didn't even know Fox had been claiming to air Futurama this weekend. Of course, I've spent the last two weeks refusing to refer to the show by name for fear of jinxing it, because if you're not lucky, Fox WILL find a way! It worked, too.
If I may direct your attention a good ways down the page to the thread titled "Beat King of the Hill," it was explained that the extra KoTH episode is the one that was pre-empted earlier this season. Goodness knows they couldn't STAND to replace KoTH with any of the Futurama eps that get constantly run over, noooo.
Anyway, also inspired by that thread I'm curious to see how it'll do without the loyal Futurama fanbase, especially the first ep which is in Futurama's normal timeslot. Make sure as few people as possible watch KoTH this weekend!  :D

Sorry to burst you bubble but in adition to KOTH pre-empting it this weekend it is also pre-empting it the weekend after

It is crazy, Futurama gets higher ratings probably because it was shown 2 weeks running proving that if treated properly it's ratings improve. FOX has chosen to ignore this and kiss KOTH's ass  AGAIN  :finger:

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! The reason FOX cancel the show is because of viewing figures but as soon as there is the slightest sign of improvment they put it back on the shelf. The proof is here that the show is successful if shown 2 weeks running, THEY ARE SUCH HYPOCRITES, FUCK them the bastards  :finger:

I got my wires crossed as FishyJoe pointed out in OffTopic, "Where Buggalo Roam" has not been pre-empted yet, I wouldn't be surprised if it is though. Sorry for any heart attacks I may have caused :o

Gain their courage! Thier rich tasty courage! Seriously, I just hope a good network buys Futurama and shows it properly. Fox has treated it so badly I don't want them to "start treating it right". I want some other network like WB to get it and strike it rich with it.

I think the name of the episode
should be spoiler-ized. I read in the David X. Chohen interview abou somebody getting pregnant, but I didn't know who it was until I read that. Bah.

King Of The Hill is okay, but I have no idea why Fox heralds it as a more quality show than Futurama. Me thinks it's all because M.G. didn't create it. That's what me thinks.

King of the Hill is for the type of person who likes cartoon dramedy with texan hicks.

Individually, the actors and writers and stuff are ok.  Combine them and you get a show which forces me to turn off the television after Futurama.

Yeah I agree with you Sarge.  They like king of the hill because *he* didn't create it... Matt has said several times that fox didn't understand the humor of the show at all either.

Doesn't Lauren Tom play virtually every Asian cartoon character?

From Friends to DAG, she also plays every asian live action character. Lauren Tom is the asian invasion.

Dammit, we need more Asian-American actors, and Lucy Liu by herself won't help! When I saw this topic my reaction was "my eyes! too much red!" Then it hits me when they are double-airing King of the Hill. Do they really need two episodes of that? I think it's a waste. KOTH is already syndicated, so don't overplay it.

Side note- Who does Jade's voice in "The Jackie Chan Adventures"?  Just wondering.  :p
