Note, may not have happened

Woohoo I finally saw it. Good job everyone, you all looked like smooth bastards.

I agree with slimmy though. Sarge, you should have answered each question by drunkenly yelling "fuck fox". They wouldn't be able to take anything out of context then.

They didn't take me out of context. I meant to say that. I hate you all! Kill Futurama!!

:laff: I gotta ask the woman who interviewed me if I can get a copy of my entire interview, with screw-ups & all.   :)

I went to Rough Draft today to talk with someone & everybody was saying, "Hey! It's Sarge the TV superstar!"  :laff: They all saw it. I didn't tell them about it in advance. They posted the website piece on the fridge.

Nixorbo, you need to download divX from www.divX.com  1st in order for it to play. (It's like a different version of DirectX.)

Otherwise, it's because 1 billion people are accessing that site right now.

I'm not exactly sure what DirectX & divX do.(They're completely separate from each other.)
I think they're some sort of compression reader apps.
DirectX usually comes with most PCs & PC games. That's something you don't want to remove.
divX is fairly new & has a great compression rate (smaller file size), but I've tried it & found that it conflicts with something in my PC. I'm not sure what or why.

Okay, calm down, I'll explain it all. :-) BTW Sarge, congrats on your fame!

DirectX is utterly unconnected to video compression - it's got nothing whatsoever in common with DivX and is a completely different technology designed for a completely different purpose, as Sarge said. (Its a collection of highly optimised code libraries that enable programmers to do smart stuff with the screen and soundcard.)

DivX is a method of compressing video files so that they occupy (significantly) less space -- it's not an application in the "Microsoft Word" sense of the word, because on its own it doesn't do anything. It enables other programs to play back video files encoded in DivX format.

I can offer no suggestion as to why it conflicts... What exactly does it (or doesn't it) do? Will it install, but won't play back, or will it not even install?

As for the slow moving video, I'm stumped. Have you made sure you're using full hardware acceleration in Media Player? That **might** help a little but other than that I don't have the faintest idea. Your (Juliet's) computer is MORE than beefy enough to handle DivX. I really don't know... :-(

And I apologise for going off topic. :-)

Cheerio!

Could you put up the mpeg version?  I don't use DivX because the codec is basically a hacked version of other codecs.  That, and it is very slow on my old dinosaur of a pc.

Tanx!

I can offer an HTTP mirror in LPPF space , i only need permision for upload it from the one that posted that video (or the one who captured it..) ..

For DivX history... the DIVX (Also called MPEG-4 Video format) is a non-standard video format who was derived from the MPEG2 (DVD) codecs, from someone who liberated the MPEG2 codec in certain time DIVX codec was developed, the problem is, although the format is very good allowing high resolutions and quality in little space (5mb per minute or less) Microsoft and MPEG standards don`t like it because thet donīt invented it, while MPEG standard still discuss about the MPEG4 Microsoft tryed to compete the DivX with 2 bad formats: the ASF and now the WMV. Logicaly they areīt interested in a format that can offer better quality than MPEG1 (VCD) in the half of space....

That'd be great!  Could you host the mpeg and divx maybe?  cause these warez ftps are starting to annoy me !  hehe.   Btw, I know the person who encoded it, he didnt even ask for credit, but I like giving it anyway.
