Any info on how sales of Bender's Big Score are going? I noticed it's #8 on Amazon's DVD sales today. Not bad, not bad.

The movie F*cking rocked.

Actual total sales are often a closely held corporate secret because of competition and things like the writer's strike.

That is good for Amazon considering most people cancelled their Amazon orders to get it shipped from Play instead earlier...

I did my part by getting three copies on Tuesday...one for me, two X-Mas gifts!  Here's hoping that these just fly off the shelves.

At the Circuit City where I got it, it was practically hidden on the lowest shelf of the "New Releases" rack. Bastards.

I got the wierdest look from the Walmart lady when I asked about it. Took me about ten minutes to convince her that it was in fact a movie, and then she searched for thirty minutes... They didn't have it! So, being the impatient and desperate person I am, I went to Blockbuster across the street. They had a whopping three copies. Oy. When will these retailers learn? I am currently holding my rented copy hostage... I fully intend to buy my own, but this works for now.

I pre-ordered mine at Amazon, but when I confirmed that it would be a day late, I went to Costco to buy it, but they're not carrying it apparently! (LAME!), so I went to Borders and picked it up for $20. It was prominently displayed in the New Releases section and there were plenty of copies available (maybe 30 on the shelves).

Having it a day earlier than Amazon would have delivered it? Best $20 I ever spent.

#10/11 today on Amazon's DVD sales. #1 still on TV DVD sales

I hate that place!

A few years ago they had a South Park season out a few days before the release date and they wouldn't sell it to me. I think I saw Billy West hanging out there once too. Also the store gave me cancer and AIDS both at the same time!

Hey, don't knock Circuit City.   I bought two of the season DVDs from them when every other retail store failed me.

Because I preordered my for pickup at Best Buy, I didn't actually see if there were any movies on the shelves.  I'd like to think whatever was stocked sold out by the end of the day....

I'm sure there are other sites that give more representative data on dvd sales, but here's a link to Amazon's dvd top sellers.  It will be interesting to see how it does over the next few weeks.  I'm sure it will slip off the list soon, but for now at least it is at No. 11.

I got mine straight from the heart of the evil empire - Fox Store pre-order.  Had it a day early and couldn't wait to finish watching Devil's Hands per the "72 Days" thread before I dove into the new candy.

Hah, that was just like my local FYE store.  XD

I got my copy at FYE.  And the funny thing was, I looked all over the store and almost didn't find it.

I had to ask the clerk at the register if they had any copies of Bender's Big Score left.  Thankfully, they did, and he showed me where the DVD was.

Heh, they only had like 3 copies left.  (2 left, after I got mine)  ^_^

The DVD was on the last shelf there, so that's why I nearly overlooked it, lol.

Apparently, it was number 15 on the Top 20 New Releases.   :D

I guess the wal mart here has a big display set up. I haven't seen it, because I got mine off Amazon, but I don't think the guy who told me was a liar.

The only promotion that I've seen is a 15 second commercial on Adult Swim - it plays when Futurama is showing.  The only other that I know of is the promo on the Fantastic Four DVD.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Based on LuvFry's story I think many Wal-Marts didn't carry this movie on the 1st day. I also went to Wal-Mart on the 1st day looking for it. No luck. Went to the Wal-Mart in another city, no luck. Eventually I had to go find a Target.

I did not see it at my WalMart today either; it is not a "super WalMart" though.  They did have many copies of the Dale Earnhardt movie though; imagine that.

BBS is now No. 15 at Amazon.com and 30 at Barnes & Noble.

I did my part to boost sales and bought a second copy today at Best Buy. If you have not picked one up, that is the place.  On sale for $18 and contains a bonus disc with animatics and the BWBB preview. I also like the way they actually seemed to feature it in the new release rack and put some season 1 box sets next to it too.

I think Futurama deserved its own display with the 4 seasons, the 2008 calender and loads of BBS along with a cut-out board of Bender with a plastic bubble saying "were back baby" right as you entered Wal-Mart,Target,Best Buy, or Circuit City, but thats just

According to bestbuy.com, you can order BBS and get any of the season sets for $19.99. The offer was on the main page for Movies. Looks like they're featuring the movie pretty well.

I think I'll buy another copy of BBS from Best Buy for the extra disc and gift away the copy I have. That way, I get an even newer copy with more stuff, somebody else gets the gift of Futurama, and I don't have to pay anything extra since I used my parents' credit card for the original copy! Bender's I'm a genius!

It was on the bottom shelf of the rack in the Fox section at the Best Buy I went to. They had plenty of copies though; probably about 15. And they did have the other seasons displayed along with it. The odd thing, however, was that the price was listed as $24.99, but it turned out to be only $17.99.

I'm not sure about the RC1 or other RC2 releases of the Simpsons Movie DVD, but the German DVD has the Futurama trailer...and it is one of those you can't skip.
But in this case I can live with it.  :)

-Heh, the same thing happened to me.  Although I have had many similar experiences with Best Buy, so I wasn't completely surprised this happened.  But hey, it worked out for me. ^.^

OMG! Does anyone have a link to information on the bonus disc!?!? I had no idea such a thing existed. I checked around bestbuy.com and didn't see anything. I already have 2 copies, but I'd buy another in a second for any type of special features.

The nearest BestBuy is an hour away, but probably worth the drive if I can't get it online.

Drove to Best Buy to pick up the version with the extra DVD.

The "preview" of The Beast with a Billion Backs alone was worth the $25 and 50 mile drive. Can't wait to watch the animatics, just wish they were complete, not this "part 1" bologna!

Thanks for the tip!

I had been planning on getting mine from Best Buy anyway, before i knew anything about the bonus disk. Then I saw it mentioned on here. Worked out.
I still don't get why only Best Buy got the bonus, though. Definitely seems unfair to all the people that didn't know and got it elsewhere.

I can't speak for Best Buy, but you're probably looking at around $50 USD for shipping alone if they send them outside the US, which I agree with Kryten is unlikely.  I'll bet there are some enterprising persons out there on the internet who act as buyers and international shippers of items which are only available in the US. I'd consider facilitating a trans-atlantic dvd shipment but I'd be pretty hard to tempt.

31st on Amazon.... Buy it... Buy it... Buy it...
Good early sales of BBS is probably the best (only?) chance we have for a future for Futurama past Wild Green Yonder.

Update: 12/14/07 Still hanging in there at #34 on Amazon.  It would make a great Xmas gift!
