Looks like the creators love putting in little clues throughout the earlier episodes. Looks like no more arguments whether Leela is a mutant or not.

Since we all know this episode just aired, people who don't want spoilers won't read this thread.  And if they do, their own fault.  Plus we have real spoiler tags, Musca

I really liked this episode.  I think it is one of the better ones.  Along the lines of luck of the fryrish (although I liked that episode better still), an episode with heart, mythology and lots of humor.  I laughed out loud several times.  Maybe I've just been so Futurama deprived but I thought this episode had a lot of humor.

Fry was so sweet and not in a sickening, "i'm going to prove my love for Leela way"  just in a nice normal way.  I like that a lot better. 

And the beeping scene.  That's humor.  The professor is such a funny jackass.

The script that I won, was a lot better that the show half the crap was cut out will be scaning all of the script and should be up by 9:00pm ET to see what guys think is better.

Watched it.  The episode was average.

Not really funny at all.  Even the story wasn't too exciting since many of us knew that Leela most likely was a mutant.  I don't really know how to rate it because it wasn't very funny yet it wasn't really supposed to be funny.  The emotion of the story was good but not as good as Luck of the Fryish or Parasites Lost even.  So I think it deserves a C+.

Lets get some funny episodes... maybe because I need to lift my spirits after hearing of the show's upcoming demise.

I liked this episode more than love and rocket; in love and rocket I really didn't laugh at all.  There were plenty of funny jokes in leela's homeworld and it did a way better job of emotions between Fry and Leela.  Love and rocket felt very forced -- the saving grace was the air hose.  Without the self sacrifice of Fry, it would have definately ranked lower... felt like time keeps on slippin'.

Not enough jokes overall.  It was similar to luck of the fryish minus the number of jokes.  I like the sappy stuff; I also like humor.  Luck of the Fryish did it well.  This episode only did it so-so.

I enjoyed it.  It wasn't laugh out loud hilarious, but it was funny when it needed to be and the evolution of the story and the mystery behind Leela's parents was well done.  If someone didn't know that they were supposed to be mutants, I don't think they would have known until the last act.  Of course we all expected it from the beginning, so we don't count. 

I like a nice emotional episode and I think this one delivered.  It wasn't as balanced as "Luck of the Fryish" though, that ending actually made me shed a tear.  It was cool that we find out the answer before the show is over and I like the advancement of the the mythology of the show.

I'll give it a B.

It wasn't that good. It droned on too long [I.E. The balloon and the machine printing out the translation] I'd give it a C+, good, not great.

I had to tape and watch it and now that its over... well... it wasn't that great. Leela freaking out went on WAYYYYY too long. That note was obviously the last lingering thread of the mystery of AL1 being cut. I was actually more interested in what her bracelet... anyone have any idea about that? It didn't look like AL1 or 2 or anything I've ever seen.

I thought this episode was really well-done, but it only rates second to "Roswell that ends well" for best of this season.
The ending was fabulous, and the story flowed well. I the glow-in-the-dark nose machine,(It can do other things as well!) and Hermes' analyzation of the by product.
 Hermes:"It tooks like toxic waste, and it smells like toxic waste."
Fry "What's it taste like?"
Hermes: "Fig pudding, but there's an aftertaste much like toxic waste."

And of course Bender's offer to get rid of the waste fo only 499 dollars and 100 cents, opposed to bribing Hermes with 500 dollars.

As for the episode, there were some great parts, but the "Leela freaking out" parts just didn't strike me as that good.  Luck of the Fryish did the comedy/sentimentality balancing act better.  I wonder how Leela knowing her parents will work out now.  Will she make weekly sewer trips to visit them?  Will she still call herself an alien in public (lest she get banished to the sewers)?

You bring up a really good point there.  I would cool to see if there is an episode where Leela is told to go back underground because she's a mutant.  It seems to be a law in NNYC to stay underground if you're a mutant.

this episode is full of jokes.  It would make my fingers bleed to type them all out.  To be fair I'm a Hemophiliac.

here's some humor:
Leela: "I'm sorry you saw that Fry.  I usually try to keep my sadness pent up inside where it can fester quietly as a mental illness"
Fry: "yea i do that with my stupidness"

Leela "..but all i really wanted was a mom and dad to hold me and stroke my hair and tell me they love me"
Fry "Then today's your lucky day because I happen to be a holding, stroking loving machine.  Also spanking"
Leela (the delivery here is great) "That's not even close to what I had in mind"

Fry "Shut up you two, we can kill ourselves when we get home"

I don't know how fair it is to compare this episode to Luck of the Fryish.  The two episodes are very similar in set up, but Luck of the Fryish is considered by many to be the best episode in the series -- including jokes and plotline.  The other good "sappy" episode, parasites lost, is probably the best of the romantic types (you just can't beat the holophoner scene).

I would compare this episode to Time Keeps on Slippin' or the other extremely heavy Leela episode, The Cyber House Rules.  I liked Leela's Homeworld a lot more than those two.

Very good episode. (I'm curious to read what was cut out.) I liked that leg mutant. 
I espescially loved the montage at the end of Leelas' parents taking care of her from behind the walls. Leela with braces had me cracking up.

I absolutely loved this one.  It was very sweet and sentimental while the humor was well-balanced.  I've always thought of Leela as a mutant, so it was no big surprise, but the ep is probably my favorite now that it's replaced Time Keeps on Slippin'.  The ending was very heartfelt and I felt like crying, hugging my mom and dad, etc.  The Leela-Fry stuff was pretty good too.  He went all out to make her happy and now to me, it seems as though maybe he's too good for her, rather than the other way around.  It kinda reminded me of my bf and now I feel bad.     I'll have to make him watch it...     Anyway, a perfect episode in my opinion, but me thinks Leela owes Fry something after all he did for her... 
Also, does anyone know what song played at the end?  I'm dying to get a hold of it.  My Futurama CD must be complete!

I found it to be an average episode, until the last five or so minutes, which made it so very, very much better.  Man, what an ending.  I'd rank the end with the end of Fryrish.  I have to say though, this episode was much more suited for a season 10 sort of situation.  It seemed like the sort of episode the writers threw in just in case that Futurama was killed.  Oh well.

Two classics in a row. Season four is shaping up to be the best ever... literally.    Well, at least if the quality keeps up, we'll get really good last two seasons.

I loved the nose machine/translator ("it can do other things!"), the mutants ("I used t'be a little blond girl.", and well, if that ending didn't leave a tear in your eye, maybe you should go watch "Glutton Bowl".

Personally, I'll pretty much always take comedy over drama, so this one didn't do it for me very well. Still, the drama was probably the best drama in Futurama yet... for whatever that's worth.

Quiet you, I thought it was pretty damn funny. The emotionalness was good too, but I still think Luck of the Fryrish is cooler in that department(I guess that's because of its surprise ending...Leela's Homeworld was expected to be dramatic and junk).

I wish I weren't an internet spoiler nerd type guy. Leela being a mutant would be a cool unexpected twist if I hadn't known about it for the past year.

I was pretty surprised to see it end the way it did. I figured they'd show her interact with her partents some more.

I loved the plaques on the wall. "Has tasted every McDonalds sandwich", haha that's fucking great. The newspaper picture guy was good too.

Complaints: Leela freaking out at the end was semi-annoying and went on for too long, but eh, so what.

What's the deal with Hermes' voice? He sounded off before, but man he was terrible in this episode. What the hell man, what the hell.

Overall I give this episode six thumbs up.

I thought it was a great ep. My only complaint is the attitude of the parents. They loved her, that much was clear. The thing I didn't get is why they would rather die at the hands of their daugter than to confess her mutant heritage. I get that they were trying to shield her from the shame of being a mutant, but I think they tried to go a little too far there. If being a mutant would have devasted her, killing her parents would have destroyed her.

Other than that, very touching ep.

Another note: as a nerd, I love all the thought that goes into this show. Like Nibbler's shadow in the first episode, and Leela's parents in I Second That Emotion...you don't see people thinking this far ahead in any other sitcom.

Today's comedians could learn from this show.

Plus she would have found out after she looked at their corpses. Not a well-thought-out plan.
