What a great episode.  It was classy from start to finish.  I especially liked the end.  BumbleBeeTheta will be talking about it for ages.  I just found myself chanting "Go Fry" when he hooked Leela up with the oxygen.  The 2001 parody was great, too.  The professor using the cattle prod on Leela was hilarious.  All in all, I'd give this episode an A.

Favorite line:
Zoidberg: Now if only it was Valentine's Day.  What?  It was?  Hurray!

Same here an A but they didn't show any ads after the show for leela's homeworld or do they show them when it gets around that time?

I missed to first 5 mins (I taped it though but I gg to work now) Are they actually going to be in P.E. uniforms now?! Those things look cool! I always wondered why they wore street clothes to work.

Tons of amy for the amy lovers.  And as usual, with the huge amount of skipping around that fox is doing to the show, it would have been very difficult to understand the amy/kiff thing if you were a casual watcher.

Leela mentions breaking up with shawn again.

All in all, it was a good valentines episode; as previously mentioned, lots of class.  However, it felt kinda weird -- but maybe that is from fox not airing 2/3 of season 3 and 4 and all.

I give it an A for the valentines theme, C+ compared to the average episode.  Guess I can't share the secret of immortality with anyone.

I liked the episode a lot of continuity and great jokes, It is strange that my home Town gets mentioned both on Futurama and the Simpsons. I agree it was a little wierd seeing a new episode, had a discussion with someone who said she wished Futurama was still on, and was very surprised when I told her it was.

I thought it was damn good. As everyone knows, I am a Fry-Leela Shipper at heart. Well ok, not really, but almost dying and then spitting up a heart candy thingy for her was cool. And I loved Zoidberg's narration at the end. "Several planets were destroyed...including two gangster planets and a cowboy world!"

What's the deal with Lucy Liu? Is she going to be in every episode now? Is she going to replace Amy as the regular hot asian chick?

Now it's time for some bitching: I'm tired of how Fry repeatedly states his intentions in romantic episodes. With Time Keeps On Slippin', it was words to the effect of "I've just got to figure out what I did to get Leela to love me!". And now it's "I just have to find the right words printed on these candies to make Leela love me!". Those lines sound too weird, and the emotion would work better if that stuff were toned down a little. But maybe it's just me.

Hmm, did they destroy a world in the alternate dimension?  (the cowboy dimension).

Oh the mysteries.

I liked it more the second viewing of it.  Move it up to a B+ (like all the episodes)

Loved the ep. It was wierd to see a ship that never talked before in the entire show, talk and fly around on its own. How on earth does it make dinner?  :) Loved the L&F thing. Zoidberg showed up and ruined it though. (takes out shotgun, aims...) Nah, I wouldn't kill Zoidberg (takes bite of food) I love Zoidberg (camera pans back to reveal me eating lobster.)   :) Just kidding about bumping off Zoidy, no really!

Any show with a Kubrick homage deserves at LEAST a B. Any cartoon with that and Amy waxing the ship in her underwear deserves the highest mark I can give it.

Best episode EVER!

What was that supposed to be about?
Anyway, this episode wasn't too bad, but it wasn't one of the best. I thought the characters' voices sounded a little weird in this ep, or maybe it was that FOX hasn't shown Futurama in ages! The animation was spectacular like always. Did anyone notice in the opening scene that there was a nebula or space dust cloud shaped like a giant gorrila. I don't know, maybe my eyes were deceiving me. I liked the appearance of the Omicronians-or whatever they're called; "Wuv? What is this emotion supposed to mean?!?!"
That's all fer now, episode grade= a very generous B+

loved it loved it loved it saw it three times. The L/F thing was soooooo cute. After he saved her i was so expecting her to kiss him and was real suprised when she didn't. In any case, at least he finally proved himself to her even though by the end of the season none of them will mention or think about it ever again and Leela's feelings for him will go right back to what they were before. So i guess i'll just enjoy the warm fuzzies while i still have them.  :)
They really need to bring this Shawn guy into an episode. I would love to see leela's reaction to seeing him again and then Fry's reaction when he got all jealous (as we all know he would)

I loved the particle-array candies.  I kept thinking, "I could do that with 3DS MAX."  Of course I couldn't make it look like a cartoon, but I digress.  I wholeheartedly enjoyed this episode.  I missed the first couple minutes, but the last fifteen were golden.  Bender's dumping of the PES, the constant reference to the PES as "Planet Express Ship", and Zoidberg's summation monologue were great.  I missed that the uniforms were PE uniforms, I thought they were from the candy company.  They looked pretty snappy, except for Bender.

Did anyone else notice that the Omicronian city looked a lot like a Klingon city?  Maybe it's just me.

The CGI heart candies went over really well in the 1st color meeting. It was drop dead perfect. Those chicken-wire emotion robots were drawn by hand. A co-worker told me all about the many hells of drawing chicken wire.   :laff:

I liked the episode a whole lot, but I was disappointed that the ship talked to Fry through his apartment window. I was hoping part of the ship would be seen at Frys' front door hovering in a tiny impossible hallway. Meh, rewrites.
Great Amy scene washing the ship!! Excellent. And Benders' 'dump' speech at the most critical moment was hysterical.   :)

-& no, they don't wear those uniforms from now on.  ;)

Good Ep, but not the best.  The Bender - PE Ship storyline seemed laboured.  The Fry-Leela storyline was great.  Zoidy's narration was brilliant.  I only hope that the PE Ship will go back to having no personality.

That's thebest new episode yet! holy shit, i couldn't stop laughing!! "We're off to the most romantic city in the world!" (cuts to ship flying in to a city, sign says "welcome to milwaukie&quot ;)...brilliant! The tron homage during the melding of the programming was great, too (if there was a Tron homage).

Great episode, I must say. I really like the first act, with the love factory. And the Omicronian bit was hilarious.
"Wuv? Are you speaking of the emotion you call love?"
"No, look, it's wuv. It's spelled with an earth 'w'."
I was a bit disappointed that Lucy Liu only had a 3-second cameo, but ah well, it's not like she'll become a regular! And I hope they get to wear their new uniforms again. They almost look like the SeeD uniforms in Final Fantasy 8.

Fry and Leela seem to have gotten emotionally closer in this episode. I know that Fry did better in another episode, but this time he did it without the help of mind-bending worm parasites.  :)

The uniforms are taken form 2001/2010 also, the are standard fly-suits for pilots (generally for big planes or planes that don`t do big-G turns) used also in Space suttles i guess. (when no in space-suit)

I didn't find the episode too terribly funny.  The only part I really laughed out loud at was bender's , "oh you're serious, let me laugh harder, AHAHAHAHA".  The rest of the episode just made me chuckle.  I think mainly it was the entire shock value of it; having a new episode, and then it be fairly harsh (shocking leela, fry basically dieing, sigourney weaver being an insane ship, killing the care bears, the weird love king & queen).

The 3d was superb.  It was fun watching the ship fly around the asteroid field; the stars outside the ship were actually done well (compared to the static front to back; they actually swerved as the ship did).

I thought the 2d was a little different than season 3, at least the style.  More motion in the lips + face, better point of view drawing.  Don't know if I _like_ the slightly altered point of views, but the drawings of the characters was definately better.  Maybe it was just me.

I thought that leela sounded louder, only marginably.  Billy west just sounded different to me, with fry and zoidberg.  I think I figured out what sounded different with fry at least, he sounded older.  Zoidberg sounded deeper, but that could have just been the ending monologue.

I think the episode had some great lines and a nice enough story. It wasn't one of the top 5 episodes for me, but then again this gets tougher and tougher with each new episode to air. Too bad I can barely remember '2001: Space Odysee' ...
Oh well, "Leela, you'll have to do some acting." was worth the wait alone  :p
