It took my friend who introduced me to futurama about 5 weeks to explain how Fry is the prof's uncle and not vise versa  :p

SP3K is one of the last episodes I saw. I knew Leela was a cyclops by then, though.

Well that's good. How could you not, at first sight, realise she's a cyclops? I mean, after watching Futurama for a while and becoming used to her cyclops-ness, you can forget, but her one eye was the first thing abnout her that jumped out at me. Well second - the hair came first.

Xanfor tries to see what's on the inside of a person.

Hermes' exclamation "Ras H. Tafari. What's goin' on here?" is his own rastafarian way of saying "Jesus H. Christ!" I can't believe I actually thought that maybe there was a Mr. Ras H. Tafari associated with the rastafarian movement.  I say "Jesus H. Christ" all the time and it just clicked for me last night.

Okay, a LITTLE stupidity...
I just looked it up and found out that Hermes is saying "Rage dump!" in The Lesser Of Two Evils.
I always heard it as "Ridgedom!", and had been trying to figure out what that even meant up until today.

what is a rage dump?

Haha, I was wondering that too.
I'm guessing it simply means to get rid of (or dump) your rage/anger.

It's still a funny phrase.
I was thinking about it and though that is could mean he's dumping his rage on them (being stressy with them)

I it took me like 30 viewing of Parsites Lost and my friend who wasn't even a Futurama fan to figure out what Zoidberg meant when he said "You'll never guess where I've been!" while riding on Fry's sperm.  Now that I think about it it was fairly obvious what happened. And in the episode A Leela of her Own it took me forever to get that it was a parody of A Leauge of their own and I thought Hank Aaron was dead and couldn't frigure out how he did the voice over in the episode. There's a lot more stupid stuff but I can't remeber it.

It took me a few minutes to get the 'Obviously you've never been in love' line. Now that I do, I think it's one of the best in the series.

@Xanfor:So I've been told by everyone I know      :p. And also wolfman      :D       :nono:.

@Everyone: The first time I saw Xmas story the line: "I'm going to shove coal so far up your stocking you'll be coughing up diamonds!" cofused me for some odd reason then like 5 minutes after the episode I realized what it meant and I don't know how i took me so long I guess I'm just really slow at times.        I tend to be amazingly dumb even though I am in an advanced portion of the school where I have to have an 85 or higher gpa.

(This is a random question but is it possible for anyone to make me a signature with graphics and stuff? i don't know how to make one. I don't have photoshop or anything like that on my computer. I've been trying to figure out how to make one for a while now but I can't figure it out and I am pretty good with computers.)

Yes.

"No creature would willingly make an idiot out of itself![/i]"

"Obviously you've never been in love![/i]"

Both a comment on how you'll do anything when in love and how love willingly makes you into an idiot.

Obviously I've never been in love.

Nah, because immmediately before in the same scene, when Fry starts complaining, Hermes says "Take a rage dump, man!" So it seems to be the equivalent of saying "calm down" or something like that.

The company is called RomantiCorp. Amy says, "Is that a corporation that makes romantic stuff?" Obviously it is, but Heremes praises her because, for someone of Amy's intelligence, that's a fairly impressive observation.

I think she's more klutzy and scatter-brained than dumb. I think part of it is that cute girls don't have to try very hard to get praise out of guys.

Actually, Hermes comment "Very good, Amy!" was obviously SARCASTIC. That's the joke.
Basically, it's the equivalent of saying "No shit, Sherlock!".

I thoughtit was just a little sarcastic. Like he was poking fun and actually praising her at the same time.

It took me a long time to get the bit in "I, Roommate":
"Well, we are technically in New Jersey."
"Not one place even remotely livable!"
I don't know why. Maybe it's 'cause I'm not American.

My cousin thought Dr. Zoidberg stole all of Bender's glory once.  The dumbest thing I saw on Futurama was on Raging Bender about Leela's former martial-arts intructor being overly sexist.   It would've been better if the martial-arts intructor just hated everyone.

I was watching 300 Big Boys with my friend Alex during the summer... She saw a fire door with "FIRE DOOR" written on it in big red letters and said "Fire Door? I don't get that joke."

She also still insisted Leela was an alien after I forced her to watch Leela's Homeworld over and over to prove her wrong.

I, to this day, have tendency to remember the characters as yellow. As many times as I have seen the episodes, it never fails to amaze me anew when they are indeed NOT yellow.

I'm such a ditz.

I actually went for many years not even fathoming what Bender's name meant - The drunken binge part that is. When it hit me one day I was amazed at how that went past me.
Deary me, I didn't get that till reading about it just now. I suppose the being British part of me meant that I was so focused on ignoring the British slang meaning of "bender" that I missed the double meaning actually intended.

@Arocalypse: Was she surprised that Family Guy is about a guy who has a family?

She was surprised that the Griffins were all related
  :laff:
idiot....
To be fair, Brian isn't and I'd be surprised if I found out that he was. Well, not too surprised.

And I don't know if it counts or not, but there's loads of 'A Head in the Polls' I didn't get when I first saw it ("expletive deleted" in particular), but I was only 12 or so and an English 12 year old at that, so I suppose I'm not exactly stupid for not knowing the finer details of the Watergate scandal at that point.

I didn't know the Bender thing, but then I'm certainly no expert on British slang. Or even very well acquainted with it.

I rewatched A Head in the Polls a few days ago and I hadn't remembered a lot of it. There was some really funny stuff about Ford that I probably didn't pick up on the first time I ever saw it (and I don't think I got the Bob Dole joke then either).
