I like family guy. It doesn't have a back-story or multi-faceted characters or anything, so it'll never be an obsession like Futurama, but for sheer madcap hilarity it can't be beat. I think it's one of the funniest things on TV.

to be fair the simpsons have been on for what, 18 years? that's a long time to provide fresh, interesting, and funny shows. they are bound to lose something after all that time.

I think it's 16 now?  I can't even remember.

But ya, of course after so long things will sort of peter out, failing all else, their tenacity is amazing.  However, it'll never be the show it once was, but that doesn't make what it once was any less great.

At least they're promoting and airing the show. I remember having the same frustration with channel seven when they were airing the show and I must say ten might not understand the show but they have done a good job raising such a large australian fanbase.

Yeah... but I've just always wanted to hit someone with a fish.

Would be nice though if the show got promoted as an intelligent piece of comedidrama instead of having its most low-brow moments highlighted. But I suppose the vast majority of television audience are braindead cocksnaps who are only interested in jokes about bodily functions.
