C4's Dumbest Cuts

Well, as in many other topics there have been mentionings of C4s stupidest cuts or just annoying cuts, post them here.

In Put your head on my shoulders they cut all of the stuff about exploding asses (Multiple times, no wonder i was confused), the caring of Frys sexual orientation stuff, the waking up in the morning after sleeping with amy speech from Fry and the nice ass, ass from Leela in the date.

As I said earlyer, they cut out Mom saying "bastard" in "A Fishfull Of Dollars".

The cut itself wasn't paticulary dumb, but in 'A Bicyclops Built For Two' they cut the scene where Bender disguises himself as a maid to him laughing, and then they went straight to the next scene. It's stupid that they left the laugh there, as it makes no sense whatsoever on it's own.

"Faeces" is one.

Plus cutting "He(Santa)'ll rip off your head and cram your neck full of toys from his sack of horrors!" is sort of understandable but really messes up the routine.
Much like "He'll hunt you down and blast your ass from here to Pakistan" being cut ruined the entire song at the end of X-Mas story.

"Booze" is another.

all time fave cut out scence was this one (it was only about 1 second long!)

In "The Deep South" when Fry says "Harpoon my ass", they cut out "ass" which made it really wierd.

The reason I thought it was Fry was because I remember Bender harpooning him in the ass and Fry says something like "OUW! My small intestine", I guess I remembered it wrong.

you confused two eps there. in Deep South it was Bender who said "harppon my ass" and then Leela harpooned him, but in "Fry and the Slurm Factory" Bender uses the F-Ray on Fry and Fry's response was "ow my sperm!"

Actually later on in The Deep South, Fry bends over and Bender casts his line at his ass, then the shot changes and Fry yells: Argh! My Small intestine!

That's just plain evil, destroying one of the best songs ever.

Some of these cuts is understanding, but most of them is just wrong. Like the Leela one from AOI I.

Then I guess they cut the waking-up scene in "Loves Labours Lost in Space" too.

The only good think is that when we pay for our video/DVD we know we are getting something new, not the same as the hacked version we taped off the telly 

I still think Futurama should be aired at night, uncut.

I think they are showing "Loves Labours Lost in Space" today so look for the cuts

the cuts that Channel Four are doing is totally stupid. But they are watching their backs, Ch4 is regulated by the ITC (Independant Television Commision) and if anyone complains to the ITC about ch4's contents then Ch4 get shafted. so you never know but some people might get offended by stuff on Futurama and complain. so the ITC may force Ch4 into cutting down the episode.

heres a list of things where the ITC can take action.. - notice the one in bold.

- taste and decency, including strong language and sexual portrayal
- violence
- privacy
- impartiality
- charitable appeals
- religious programmes
- undue prominence for commercial products

so it may be beacuse of that. but if that's the case then how come sky|one dont cut as much?

One bit noticed when watching the DVD's what that when Bender used the X-ray gun at Fry in 'Fry and the slurm factory' and Fry goes ahh my semen, C4 was just ahh!

I love the DVD's finally get to see the eps how they were meant to be

I can't see the ITC being bothered by a few sad cases complaining about Futurama, I know it is shown before 9pm but programmes shown later have no cuts, when they contain "real" swearing, nudity or graphic violence, I'm sure people complain about certain films but the ITC rarely does anything.

The ITC's job is to uphold complaints as they see fit. not do dismiss them all.

I can't see them up holding any complaints about futurama. Most times complaints are upheld when people have been misrepresented.

Also i don't think that they will take the odd complaint from one or two people seriously enough to shut down C4/stop Futurama. You'll never get enough people complaining about Futurama for anything serious to happen
