Huh?

Do you mean Futurama has a chance, or not?

Lest there be misunderstanding, I am not saying Futurama has no chance,  :nono: I'm saying there are a number of impediments to that end.

Most of them having to do with money...  :hmpf:

I'm definately thinking that a new season makes the most sense. They'd definately get the biggest return from doing one as well, advertising and such would promote a future DVD release for sure.

I'm certainly no expert, but I'm told a movie is the most cost-effective option.
And the Joe's at F*x aren't going to do anything unless it makes business sense.
I don't much care whether it's a new season, or a DVD-movie-or-three, as long as it's new Futurama.

I'll shut up now...

I always thought that futurama ended because fox canceled it. Anyway I think that they should make another 2 seasons before making any movie.

I just want some kind of resolution with certain characters and what's going on with them.

No matter if that's movie form or a new season.

I can't get enough either way.

Surely you would like another season or two though? A movie don't tickle your fancy?

I'd love another season.
It'd most likely make my life complete.

I spent alot of money getting the other 4 seasons on DVD and I've got more to invest on anything else Futurama that hits shelves.

Movies would be good.
A new season would be great.

Either way it's Futurama.
And that = euphoria.

So all the rumors of either a futurama DVD or tv season are all false?  We are back to NO hope for Futurama?

well to what i know (correct me if im wrong) the tv season was just a rumour which was false, and the dvd's might be being though about, but it may be a while for a conclusion.

but you could check out the "there is a god" thread for more info.

^ yeah that's about right.  There's nil chance at this point of new episodes, but movies might be in the works.  Its just that no one seems to know how far along they are.  We've heard everything from no progress to an entire script having already been written.

I think we've seen with Serenity that a movie after a TV series has been cancelled has too many threads of plot to be picked up all in one go. So if there is a movie deal, it'll most likely mean that we don't all get our favourite plotlines and story arcs resolved.

What Futurama really needs is another season, but sadly that's not likely. If we do get movies, it would be wonderful to have four with a whole plot arc covering them, spanning the four under one epic wing that resolves itself spectacularly at the end. Speaking for myself, it's not so much the quantity I care about but the quality of the new Futurama that is produced. I need it to give me closure on all the possibilities that were never fully explored on television.

If it does come back you would want 2 or 3 seasons to be aired just to get everyone back into watching futurama.

Personally, I believe in Billy West. I think we're getting four movies and 26 episodes or maybe some of those movies are going to be melted down into some 3 parter episodes to fill that huge quota for episodes.

In the entertainment industry you don't really blow the lid on matters like this until all the negotiations are final no matter how sure a thing it is. Billy probably isn't wrong, he's just unorthodox in his methods.

Exactly ^^^ I think no real word is going to be said until things are final. I think we've all said things that seemed sure at the time but for some reason it didnt happen.

I'd love to see more than one new season come out. For me , a once animated cartoon turned into movie says "We are out of ideas and this our last ditch attemp to make something spectacular that the fans will love."
And even after the movie if the episodes go on , they just get worse , because the movie was that good or that people just thought that the movie boosted the ego of the show too much.

So really i'd love to see a few seasons made. Would'nt mind seein' a futurama movie (if they made one) but it would be a bit of a burn on the seasons  :(

Yeah, I want more seasons. Right now I own all the seasons and I'm getting board with them because thought there is 70+ episodes I've seen them all several times, then I seen them all again with the commentary several times.

A few new seasons would last me another 3 years of entertainment with a wider selection of episodes. Why was Futurama cancelled in the first place?
