12 hours since I heard the news, and I still can't believe this. Is an IQ at the same level as a wet towel a prerequisite for being a FOX exec? Stupid, braindead, overpaid bastards! FOX couldn't recognize quality entertainment if it bit them on the ass! They'll much rather broadcast some stupid eating contest and reality shows, than award winning animation. Go figure that. I'm not sure what to do, but it's obvious that we need some sort of coordinated and unified campaign if we're going to have any chance. It worked for ST:TOS a couple of decades back. But as I see it we stand a much better chance at convincing some other network to pick up Futurama, than getting through to the FOX execs in their tall, wellguarded ivory towers. They've clearly demonstrated the don't give a hoot about viewers oppinions. I'm going to write FOX (either mail or email) and express my oppinion. I'll just wait a couple of hours to calm down, otherwise the wording will be VERY counterproductive. I'm going to support any coordinated petition, or other campaign, CGEF seems like a good base for that. Okay, I'll leave the podium now and leave the microphone to our next speaker. A man who needs no introduction. ::leaves::

Okay, I've calmed down, I've vented my rage (that 7-11 didn't REALLY need TWO clerks, did it?) and I've come to this conclusion:
This could very well be the best thing that ever happened to Futurama.
Let me tell you a story about another sci-fi series. It was mistreated by its network, left to rot in a lousy timeslot, and unceremoniously cancelled in its prime.
And that series?
A little show called... Manimal.
No, I'm kidding. I'm, of course, referring to Star Trek. And look where it is now. No, wait, look where it was five years ago. A simple show that would probably have gone nowhere became an international multi-media phenomenon, and why? Because of the fans. And this was BEFORE the internet.
This isn't the end. It's just a new beginning.

As I quoted earlier - Babylon 5 got cancelled after 4 Seasons by Warner Brothers, but TNT took it on for the fifth season and the subsequent TV Movies .. So There Is So Hope In All The Current Darkness After This Bizarre Desision.

Instead of all this crazy talk, here's a few of my favorite Futurama quotes and moments:
"Yup, it's going to be fun on a bun!"
"Don't worry, Bender...there is no 2"
"Lay it on me, Big Boots!"
"Bender, tell me the truth. - Okay, I like a challenge"
"Look at head, ba be de bop ba doop!"
"Asteroids, the icebergs of the sky"
"To shreds you say, how's his wife holding up? To shreds you say..."
"I say - you've damaged our servants quarters...and our servants!"
"Come on, it's just like making love. Down, left, rotate 62 degrees"
"I could bend a gerder to any angle, 30, 32...*sob* 31"
"Well, I didn't have anything else planned for this afternoon...Let's get drunk!"
"And this drawer holds my assorted lengths of wire, and over there is my intergalactic spaceship, here, let me show you some of the assorted lengths of wire I used in building it"
"Wow, what do those humans use these things for anyways"
"Hey, sexy momma...wanna kill all humans?"
"And I'm the other guy! Courage, all out, need some!"
"All rise for our national anthem. - Theme from Amok Time"
Ahh...the smile is slower creeping back to my face :-)
Hope some letter-campaign addresses are posted soon

Wow, this is fantastic! All these people come out when the show needs them. Reading everyone's posts have made me feel better. For a while I was this empty shell of a man. Now I feel rejuveniated (spelled wrong?) and ready to fight. Sci-Fi recently cancelled two favorite progams of mine. I'll be damned if I let this program go without at least trying to save it. I agree with Marc and some others. Immeadiate action is brash and useless. It makes sense to bide our time and think of plans of attack. Viva la resistance!

Even if I have to put the rest of my life on hold and fail my college course it would be worth it if it meant saving Futurama.
Anyone know how much postage it would cost to send letter to FOX from England?

Well, i've written my complaint letter, anyone else got one? To whoever this matter concerns, I have recently heard of a rumour that Futurama has not been picked for the Season 5 renewal. I know that these are only rumours but i know that they are from very stong and reliable sources. First of all it would help to know why it is being cancelled if indeed these rumours are true. If it is cancelled due to poor viewer ratings why don't you take into account that many souces i have heard from clearly state that Futurama is shown at unreasonable times, cancelled, moved and mucked about with by you in the US (I can't get first hand knowledge, i'm in the UK). Apparently Futurama hasn't recieved very good treatment in America anyway so far and from the looks of things it will never get any treatment again. I am one of many thousands of Futurama fans that knows of these rumours and i am shocked that such a thing could happen. Futurama is a very promising series and has many good points to be kept. Recently the Futurama Season 1 DVD was realesed in the UK and Europe and has recieved very good sales figures and there is a loyal fan base and has been for many years, since the start of Futurama in 2000. It has a promising storyline and many new and great stories can be built off of this. One last point before you decide that Futurama should be canned, remember that there are many fans that would do near anything to stop this, i'm sure you'll recieve many more letters, e-mails and phone calls about this, i hope you know what your doing.
