This Morning

well being unemployed i get to watch the joys of daytime television, early this afternoon i watched this morning's tv news section and they suggested that a new series of futurama ("too intellectual to ever be a success in the US" ) was on its way later this year on TV (and a few months later over here in the UK) - not sure if he has confused this with the dvd movies or not so i went for a new thread

Doubt it. I think the production horizon on a Futurama season is close to a year (and that's if the staff/crew are already assembled, adding time to put together a new team only adds to that), so if a new season were to air sometime this year production should already be in full swing.

Plus you can bet your life if something like this were to happen, we'd know about it. At best the station took the current rumours about straight-to-DVD movies and went overboard with them, at worst they're lying bastards.

This month's SFX magazine mentioned Billy West's post.  They're usually pretty up to speed on developments in the States, but even they're not sure if the show's definitely back or not.  And if they don't know, there's no way a daytime TV show would.

That would be so cool if it would be true but I highly doubt it is true. But I would hope it would be true.
