Probably someone is not signed yet or some part of production, distribution, funding, or other $ stuff hasn't been buttoned up.

After all, Futurama nerds don't have friends who aren't Futurama nerds (or is that just me?)

FOX will be generating the buzz to their own timetable.
I would suspect that the advertizing blitz won't happen until it's close to time for the DVD's to actually be released.

You never know with any sort of movie. Sometimes, you get those "year before release short ads" that say something like "Futurama: The Movie" and "Coming to the 21st Century This December" and a short blip of Bender saying "Bender's back baby!"
Yes, I bet they'll do the huge ad campaign like they did with the Family Guy movie for the Futurama movie.
Personally, all this talk is pretty much confirming that something is happening, but nobody's sure what. I hope that they don't do what they did with the Family Guy movie and split the movie into later episodes, if Futurama got back the television.

* June 21, 2006, Katey Sagal, as a guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, stated that Futurama is very likely to return for either 13 or 16 new episodes on Comedy Central, in addition to the DVD movies. She also stated that she had already signed the contract to do voice work in Futurama.
Also, on Adult Swim, it was announced that Billy West spoke of 3 straight-to-DVD episodes of Futurama which would begin production during the Summer of 2006, hopefully arriving Fall of 2006. Perhaps these episodes will be bonus features on the DVD's.

From the Late, late, late Show website... Tuesday, Jun 20 Katey Sagal (Futurama) David Milch (Deadwood) Arturo Gatti See the way Katey's name is listed? Futurama! Not 'Married With Children', not 'Eight Simple Steps', 'not Lost'. The media buzz is starting - little hints dropped here and there to keep the buzz going. This message board will go up in a flash of spontaneous combustion when the 'official' word is released. Back a few months ago, I stated that Billy West's rebuttal of the new eps was a little too quick - almost like damage control. He probably got a bit of a tongue-lashing from DXC for spilling the beans too soon. Notice that Billy has been strangely silent since then about Futurama? Anyway - I'm a greedy bastard. I want the DVD's to be unrated so that the plots can be a little more adult oriented and the eps to be more PG for TV. If Katey is correct about the new eps being on Comedy Central - the show will be given the respect that it deserves.

I thought CC was paying a lot for reruns but did think much more of it.

Is that a real word, or like Fry asking Leela if Bender was 'catastrophizing' another planet?
Anyway, we know what you meant.
This is a happy day for all of us.

There's a televised season 5 of Futurama, thanks to Fox. Production season 4 was split into two televised seasons.

So far Xanfor and Venus haven't dropped dead from rapturous excitement - we now only have to worry about Shiny.
Hopefully, at the end we'll get closure to the Leela/Fry relationship.

I watched Conan last night and not Craig, so I wouldn't have heard that. There is only one word to describe my emotion... SKWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEE! *Does the Pee-Wee Dance*
At least it will be on Comedy Central, where it stands a chance, as they do a good job with South Park.

Well, if this is all correct I'm going to pretend the table top is a pair of bongos (as in drums =P), and make the cat dance a 'Glee-shuffle' of sorts. One concern is whether England will have to wait longer than the States for all of it. It's only a concern because I can be impatient. The other depressing and shameful concerns like "Is this all a misunderstanding?" are being smothered by euphoric optimism.

This is outstanding news and I echo Venus' "EEEEEEEeeee"s. I'm wondering. Did Comedy Central buy Futurama outright from Fox? It sounds like the new eps are going to be produced by CC.
