4 Futurama DVD Movies

HERE'S GREAT NEWS!
Here's the official word on Futurama!!
David X. phoned me about an hour ago and said that this Futurama project
is a done deal! Here's the word from DX---
There are 4 DVD movies that we'll start recording at the end of July or
August.Full feature length FUTURAMA movies.
Everybody is excited to get back together--as I am!

(This is, of course, assuming Mr. West isn't jumping the gun again, although I don't think he would misinterpret "4 movies" and "start recording in July." )

First: Awesome!

Second: 4 movies?! That's very surprising. I was hoping for one, and maybe some new episodes to follow, but 4 movies comes as a bit of a shock.

The page finaly came up for me, and the post does indeed exist. I'm tentatively begining the celebration, cracked a 40 of Old Fortran to let it breathe (and let the metal shavings settle out), though my inner cynic hasn't been silenced yet. Hopefully we'll hear directly from Fox in the near future!

Wow, Futurama is following the same pattern as Star Trek. Cancelled sci-fi show, just over 70 episodes, then it hit popularity after its cancelation and now they're bringing out a shitload of movies.

this is the best day of my life, do you have the link for it? i wont believe till i see the actual post by billy west. there should be one where its the 4th(if you cant the comics books)anthology of intrest. that would be awsome!!!

this is so awsome. but fox is trying to see how popular the dvds are so they can see if they should bring it back, so alot people are probaly going to download it like they did the family guy movie. and if alot of people do that than futurama might not come back.

You are exactly right.  So that means:  Do not even consider downloading these movies if you value your life.

That seems presumptuous; even if Billy West is corect, fox may not be planning a return to the series at all. If they were, why plan 4 movies?

incidentally that's the bit that my inner cynic hangs up on. 4 movies? That doesn't sound like the fox I know..

If Billy says it, it's not April 1st, and seems to be in Billy posting form, it's likely true. We'll wait for CGEF to say something about it to fully do the fangasm, but, until then, let's do the semi-fangasm, shall we?

We'll overall this news (billy's post) is a lot more concrete than anything we've had before regarding the much rumoured futurama movie(s). It's possible that he's jumping the gun, but with DXC saying that its a done deal and naming a vague recording date, its hard not to get excited, but i think the real time for cebebration is when the 1st movie hits the shelves
